According to me Both type of family has their own advantage or disadvantage
Small Familiy benefits
Relexed, No Boundation from your elders, More Reponsible
Disadvantage
But feel alone
Joint Family
Less Responsible, Need to work as a team member
Disadvantage
Not able to think or take decision of your own

well as u said..both of them have their advantages and disadvantages..so the choice purely depends on ur values and the kind of upbringing u have had..for a person who is brought up in a joint family would most probably feel happy around people..while someone from a nuclear family might thinkk otherwise..I personally like a joint family because u have a person to seek support from when u really need help...
