Why US think they are the owners of the world?

October 11, 2010 10:28am CST
I would like to know why do the USA and their authorities think they are the rulers of the world. Why do they treat the rest of the world as if it was their toys? Did God give them the supreme ability to be superior than the other countries? What do you think about it?

I have a better question. Why does the rest of the world think the USA is obligated to feed, clothe, and medicate them? And why do they expect us to respond to every natural disaster? Other countries curse the US until they need our help.

The US does more through the UN and invidual charities to feed and clothe those in third world countries than any other nation. This has become expected of us. Where is the US dumping our garbage or "testing" anything?

US arent obligated to feed the world, but also doesn't need to treat the world as THEIR garbage dump, THEIR testing area.

This is a bit hypocritical don't you think? Considering your country is one of those who decided to join in a law suit our federal government currantly has against one of our soviergn states (Arizona), thus sticking your country's nose in to our internal affairs. I might also add your country being listed in this law suit as well as the other's who decided to jump in it will be irrelevant to the suit as it would be a direct violation of the 11h amendment which states: "The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State" I, like many of my fellow citizens, am not a fan of our nation getting involved in other nation's affairs. But the world holds a double sandard for us in this department. It seems if we do get involved, we are accused sticking our nose in others' business....if we don't ge involved, then we are accused of being selfish and isolationist.

Hum, I don't approve our president Lula sticking his nose in the other's problems, like Iran, Cuba, and many others. Bet you didn't know but there's a big opposition that doesn't approve our foreign relations caused by a president that thinks he is someone special in the world. I didn't know people out of Brazil had such a bad impression of us. Hope our new president changes this image. But USA really sticks their nose in other's subjects and problems, as long as they control UN and the IMF.

I really don't have a bad impression of Brazil in general...I have never been there and the only person I ever personally met from Brazil, who was an exchange student that attended my daughter's high school last year, was a sweetheart and a really awesome kid (she represented you guys quite well, be proud of her) What you guys do in your own country is really none of my business. Personally, I would love to see the U.S. pull out of the U.N. and kick their sorry arses off our soil (the building would make a great shelter for the homeless in New York City). I do however have an issue with your currant government and that would be their filing of their names in to the law suit against one of our states. Please write your government and tell them to please kindly stay out of our states' affair. I can't imagine the average Brazillian approves of them doing this, so I can't hold it against you or your fellow citizens. I will call out hypocracy when I see it however, and I did indeed see it here. But, in giving you the benefit of the doubt, perhaps you weren't even aware your govermment was doing this.

US Citizen, born and raised in California, (who, by the way, feeds practically the world), and all I have to say is stop asking the US for help! Guaranteed we won't come in to help, if we are not asked. Though there are things that the US gets into, but really it isn't just for the US, its for the world. I am talking about possible pandemics, burning/slashing of rain-forests , over fishing... that sort of thing. If the US doesn't do this, who would? Brazil?!? Right. Just stop asking for our help, and then maybe we will have the money and manpower to help our own homeless, disaster victims, hungry. Stop asking.

Heard of this? "When the US squeeze, the world catch a cold." It is exactly this that makes the USA thinks they are the supreme ruler of the world which without them, the earth cant spin.

Rulers of the world, not all actually. I know some American people and they don't look up that much about themselves. I don't really think that they think they own the world. Its just that they're all over the world and some of them do harm. Like the rape and assault cases in those American Military bases. Those Military bases are considered American grounds. It's the country's fault for letting them stay there. But then, I notice how much Americans look up to their counties, seeing all these patriotic programs of their's. I really don't know... I guess its because their country is on top of the world. Once you're on top you don't really have to look up on someone.

USA is the most powerful country in whole world. And also their technology is better than other countries in whole world. And also they lead every country of the world. So they think they are superior in whole world.

You say "they think" as if we all collectively think alike!!! We don't you know! I think you all are talking about our government and you need to know that we don't all think and feel the same! That being said, I wish that we would stop spending billions of dollars to help all these other countries that don't appreciate it and will take our money and spit in our face. We have lots of people here in America that need work and are hungry and homeless. Yet we stupidly source out jobs to all these other countries. We give loans for them to come over here and buy up our convenience stores with a 2% interest rate and what do they do? They fire all the employees, jack up the prices and hire their own people. It's pretty messed up.

Dude... i am not sure about this. and coming to the point of god, god has given the everyone same power or abilities... it depends on how one use it and progress.

Firstly they had the ability to build their country while World Wars took place in Europe, so Europe could develop only after the war. Secondly I think they don't rule the world, because if they did and someone actually responded it would be the end of the world.

Things are never just standing without changes like encapsulated. Things are always changing continuously. Even if often it's hard to notice it. So do the USA. We have used to think about US like the world's policemen, God, governor etc. but we don't always see that this impression looses it's linking to a reality. Slowly, but convincingly. The huge budged deficit and the debts of the USA, the decline of the manufacturing caused by the rapidly rising competition of China, growing necessity to bring well educated people from abroad because of the worsening of the education system of America, especially the exact sciences, are processes which are hardly visible in everyday's life. However, they have a big impact in a long term. The typical, stereotypical model of American lifestyle, a house and a car for everyone and people just blankly watching TV shows is mostly based on the oil resources and the economic uprise in 20th century. Now the new century has come. There are China and India involved in the model of world's economy. If simple kids from poor, simple schools of post-Soviet Union who have been the last in their classes at math moves to a school United States and then they suddenly become the best pupils among their classmates then I don't believe that such a model can provide a success in a long term. It lives on the old resources. But they are running out of them.

it seems that you have some grudges with the Americans...to whatever it maybe i believe that its not fair to say it that way..it tends to generalize all of them when in fact that only few people do that owner of the world thing..i believe that they are in the focus because of their stature in the world economy..they are just blessed with good economy but they are not superior in any way..its not the money that counts,,,we are still equal,,and i believe that instead of creating a gap we must be open minded enough for those who are narrow minded,,if we keep on blaming it may just be a good breading ground for hate,..
