Paypal Debit

You are missing the point of Paypal. The reason to use paypal is to prevent you from exposing your credit/ debit card number to companies you don't know, but want to order from them. Once the company has your account number, they can steal money from you. If you have 5,000 dollars in your bank account, then the company will be able to steal 5,000. Paypal transfering only the amount of money to the company if you agree. Example: You want to buy a ten dollar shirt. You can pay with a bank card or Paypal. If you pay with a bank card, you have to enter in your bank card number with the 3 digit security pin. the store can later use your info to make purchases or transfer money before you know it. this is when pay pal comes in: Since you have 10 dollars on your "cart". Paypal will only transfer ten dollars from you account to the "cart" and the store. This way, your bank information isn't stolen. You are missing the point of a prepaid credit card. Prepaid credit cards come in two forms. There is the VCC Verify Cards, and Prepaid Gift Cards. When you say Paypal accepting prepaid credit cards, you are thinking of VCC Verify Cards. Many people do not want to give their bank/ credit card information to Paypal. However, paypal requests the information to prevent fraud. They confirm your bank card information such as your name, age, address to your paypal account information. This is where the VCC Verify Cards come in. These cards can be bought from $5 to $20 and you verify your paypal account. Paypal may freeze your account if you do not add a bank or credit card. If you had your account frozen and still do not want to add a bank/ credit card, you buy a VCC Verify Card and "unfreeze" your paypal account. Prepaid Gift Cards are the other type of cards. When one thinks about gift cards, they think about a specific store. I don't mean buy a Wal-Mart gift card. Companies such as Visa and American Express also have gift cards. Visa, credit card service, provides prepaid gift cards to give to someone to use. You can use the prepaid gift card anywhere Visa is accepted. You CAN NOT add a Visa gift card to your paypal account because it holds no information of your address, name, age..... Knowing how Paypal works, you can choose to buy using Paypal or use a prepaid gift card. You CAN NOT use the store gift card such as a $30 wal-mart gift card WILL NOT work at Bestbuy Electronics. You MUST purchase a prepaid gift card that is created by a service such as Visa or AMEX (American Express). Adding a gift card (Visa) to Paypal defies the purpose of Paypal. Many people use gift cards to purchase items is because companies cannot take more money from the gift card. If you have $10 on a Visa Prepaid Gift card, the company cannot take $20 from it. After the $10 is used up, there is no money left. People use gift cards to purchase items so companies cannot steal more money, same thing with Paypal. You can use one or the other, but not both because it simply doesn't make sense. When you add a card to Paypal, they charge a fee. This is why you add a bank card/ credit card to Paypal because you are dealing with large amounts of money. You will not buy a $5000 in gift card, you will transfer the money from Paypal. You can buy gift cards in two ways. Cash or in your case, paypal. I really don't prefer buying gift cards with paypal because you are dealing with the being scammed issue. what if the card provider doesn't give you the pin and codes? Visa is accepted world wide so if you get a Visa card (prepaid or non prepaid) you can purchase anything from anywhere as long as you have the money. When you order online, check what type of cards are accepted. If you have an AMEX, and the site accepts only VISA, they you will have to go somewhere else. However, you should stick with visa, because pratically all stores accept visa.

Doesn't paypal have their own card? Maybe that is a visa card and not a debit card. I am not sure but their website probably clarifies. Hope you find what works for you in Jamaica.
