Given a choice: To drown or to be burned at stake?

Ridiculous as it may sound, both options are realities. HAHA! Well, not normally. I was thinking... if I were caught by people who care not about life and all, and I was given two options of dying (the options mentioned above)... which will I choose to end my life?
To drown: I might not lose consciousness at all
To burn: I might lose consciousness and not feel pain anymore
I am just assuming.
Yes, this is one of the crazy thoughts stored in my memory card.

I would imagine it would take 2-3 minutes from your body to pass out from shock due to burning alive. Those 2-3 minutes would be the worst moments of your life.
With drowning I would imagine you would lose consciousness in under a minute due to lack of oxygen to the brain. You would have to hold your breath and not fight to make the process go by much faster. If you try to fight you would end up chocking on your own blood as your lungs explode from being over taxed.

Welcome to my lot. I'd rather drown in this instance. It's easy to just take a breath of water than fight it if i know I'm going to drown, but as I am a strong swimmer I doubt that would happen. People drown because they panic.

Out of the two, drowning, you perish faster and it is much less painful. While I'm sure the pain in your chest is horrible, since anytime you run out of breath or try to hold your breath for too long it does hurt, it doesn't compare to your flesh being burned off. Go talk to any burn victims, I think any of them would choose drowning too.

i would rather drown as i would not feel the pain in all the other parts of my body. to me, i think feeling of your stomach exploding or your lungs being filled with water is better than the burning where you can see and feel your skin burning screaming in pain seeing your skin turning into liquid, and that is before your eyes will eventually melt too! haha, and the saddistic guy watching all this would be giving his evil laughter, feeling every pain in you as a source of enjoyment.
