I was going to see this Broadway musical in New York, but unfortunately family problems held me back.
I was introduced this when watching the 2009 Tony Awards.
"Do you read obituraries and feel jealous of the dead...
It's like living on a cliffside not knowing when you die."
The lyrics and story were just intriguing. And it's all originality, not adapated from a film or a person's life. The story of a housewife suffering from a disorder thinking that her dead son's alive is a tearjerker enough just to hear about it.
I heard that a lot of fans gave Billy Elliot flack for winning the Best Musical tony over it. Well, I am sure Billy Elliot is a wonderful musical too (the Tony Awards performance was phenominal), but it appears to be the "commericalized" sort of production.
