Yes indeed, the youtube design has changed a lot since 2009. When the changes first came out I hated them, just like everybody else. Over time I got used to the new functions and design and eventually I like it more than the old layout. While some of the functions were tricky in the beginning, the changes made some functions of the website even easier and more simple.
I do miss the old rating system. But then again, it got exploited a lot and for what purpose? If people didn't like a video they would call all their friends and tell them to rate it 1 star. I don't know, this new "like or dislike" function is probably better after all.

Yeah, I remember those days. Those were the good old days, with stars for ratings, the iconic gold "subscribe" button, the comments actually working properly, etc. :)
I don't like the Youtube layout now very much really :/ I really did prefer it a lot more when it was older, and when the new changes came I also remember a lot of people saying they hated the changed. The "Like" and "Dislike" system is really kindof bad :/ Atleast, if they were going to do that, they could keep the star ratings and when people rate it 3 stars or higher they could count it as a like, and lower than that could be a dislike, but to get rid of the star rating system completely was a bad idea I think.
