Tomorrow is 65 birthday of my father

He was born 13.10.1945 - in the year when world war 2 ended and now he turning 65.
We never have been very close to eachother especially after he divorced with my mom, but still he is my father and i always will be his son who loves him.
Sometimes I have expressed open hostility and rejection to him, but i have done it just because he wasnt with me in times when i needed him very much - in my teenage years.
Now he trying to gain my respect as he can, but most of his attempts fail so far. I still love him and i wish him happy birthday tomorrow!

We have already celebrated with the family his birthday at 10.10.10 :) That was awesome party!

hehe, party was great although he have birthday tomorrow at 13.10.2010, but we celebrated family party at 10.10.2010 sice it was holyday here and nice date :D

Life is short,that's what most people say. We never know our last day on Earth. If he's making effort to gain your respect, then give him a chance to be a father to you. Both of you are getting old, maybe by now you have a family of your own too,and you know how it feels when you're son/daughter loves you back.

yes, i have my own family and i have two sons already :) i am trying to be nice with thim, but sometimes its hard for both of us since he is not very liberal in his views. there is more things that divide us than unite :(

Happy birthday to your father. Hope he'll have a good one and I think that would help if you do something nice for him. Since your writing a discussion about it, maybe you wanted to do something special for your father? Be nice even just for his special day. Who knows after that day, you'll get closer and gradually resolve whatever issues you have with him.

I gave him a gift, i think it was nice. Also he met my sons, his grandsons so i think he is happy now.

Thanks for best wishes! We work together in the one house so we meet eachother every single workingday. Also we play table tennis at lunch break, so i think its good to both of us to have this time what we spent together :)
