Why do Vegans try to push their philosophy on everyone else like a religion?

If I have to accept that you choose not to eat meat, why can't you accept that I choose to? My Daughter has become a vegetarian, she did this over concerns of what the long term effects of eating meat does to her health, not because she feels bad for the animals. I support her in this, I make homemade seitan, and sausages, and Tempe. I've learned how to cook tofu properly and made the natural foods store in the neighborhood a regular stop on our shopping list for TSP. but she get's crap because she isn't doing it the PETA way and as her parents, carnivores, have been slammed as ignorant because we still eat meat. It really upsets her because she is being attacked by the vegan community on her board because she said that she didn't become a vegetarian to save the animals and all the propoganda films accomplish is to show that there need to be tighter regulations on the meat industry. Being a vegetarian/vegan is a lifestyle choice. If I can respect and no mock you for your choices, why do you have to attack ours?

I am a vegan. And I won't force my philosophy on you. :) And if you come to my house, I will cook some non-veg dishes for you. But - you too should not ask me to eat non-veg ok? As things stand, it is my father who forces me to eat non-veg. At times saying he will not eat unless I eat. :( Not fair at all!

I don't eat meat or likes, for unknown reasons. Am not a very kind person, so maybe my way too is not a 'PETA way'! And I support you, being veg* is a life style and your choice. I don't like the opposite, but never tried to push my philosophy ( see, you accuse me baseless ). And you know what, people are always so eager to change MY choice... Life!
