I prefer at dawn as this time it's so perfect for studying, no noise and it's cool that you can absorb everything you read. Everybody is still sleeping so no one would bother you so you can study continuously.

I don't personally have a preference when it comes to studying but whenever i can find time between my daily schedule is when I usually study (since I have problems with disrupted sleep) however here are some opinions that may be of help to you hopefully...
Daytime Studying - For those studying during the day they may need to study even more especially on days when they need to be in class as a result they may not have the time to relax and allow their minds to absorb everything they read or trying to retain what they learned in their childhood to help ace the exam as a result they may get a lower score or even fail however some people may find it easier to speed read and may do well at it some cons you may not realize you are hungry while you are studying for an exam and forget to eat or drink throughout the day especially during a critical time crunch deadline so make sure to eat before you study or even pack a lunch in a backpack so you can grab something quickly if you must
Night time Studying - As the hours of day wind down and day becomes night people are usually ready for bed and as a result not in the mood to think or even read books trying to get ready for tests or exams however for night owls the night works best for these people since they are already awake and think better and clearer since most businesses are closed they will cram as much as they need to during the night 4 hours each night to be better prepped with a quick 20 minute refresher in the morning or whenever they wake up so they can retain what they learned but do make sure to get some amount of sleep so you will not be tired or dozing off in class your brain will work better for you with a good nights sleep
again these are just my opinions and not based on facts
