Do i get over him or not?

OK so lets start from the beginning , i like this guy who is kind of a friend but not extremely close. He was in my class last year and i thought he was interesting so i got to know him ,basic things like where hes from , hes into science he also told me in detail about his experiments in ISEF (a science scholarship thing)we started talking about how science interests me because its always changing and he said i like the way you think etc. up til now pretty intellectual just 2 friends chattin but then stupid stupid me starts getting hooked more every day and the weird part is that im not that really into th whole relationship teen drama issues ive never had a boyfriend only went on a couple of dates because i am truly busy with everything else in my life and im a gemini , trust me when i say this : no matter what we tell you its true WE MOVE ON FAST so crushes usually dont last (haha that rhymes) . ok ok so back to the story of my stupid heart. so then we exchanged email-phone numbers and started chattin about all sorts of stuff like politics and the future .... but never about anything little romantic so i say to myself get over yourself hes not into you but then he does stuff like stare at me ( our eyes meet alot) and wave in a goofy way with a big smile on his face whenever i come in and he even sometimes blows air kisses(weird ,kinda cute in a creepy way) he also went across town to get me a book i wanted so badly and out of no where. ok ok so of course not everything he does is positive i mean he still hangs out with lots of girls might be a little flirty . he never makes the first move to talk to me he just waves , smiles but with other girls its like go go go and yes i havent shown any interest i just dont wanna lose him or be shot down and im really good at pretending. so my question is ,is it time to just move on ? is it worth it? i know the story is long but well ive been dieing for this guy for a year . I hate this!!! btw im an 11th grader.
