For better fuel economy, a lot of us might already switched to driving a small cars, or a hybrid, gas - saving vehicles. From my observation, Latino people, majority of them still stick to bigger car, like van or SUV, or bigger truck. Especially trucks, they seems have this fond "love" for trucks. But a lot of these trucks really burning a lot of gas though. I am not saying all the Latinos doing the same, I just saying the majority of them. What is their mentality driving a big truck and big cars?

A lot of Latino people work labor intensive jobs. Some of these jobs often require your own tools, especially if "paid under the table". A small car is just not going to work for construction sites- whether hauling tools, lumber, or just trying to drive through mud- those people need their large gas guzzlers. Also, there are many trucks that do not have a terrible gas mileage, plus they are no worse than those soccer mom mini vans or suvs!
