Anybody here know how to plant blueberry cuttings? I took two nice, healthy and still green blueberry cuttings to home. Then put them in a container of water and dont know will they live, will give some new roots or i must insert them into acidic soil so that they can continue to live. Meybe someone can help with this?

I'm not an expert but I was told the best time to make cuttings is in the fall when the sap is not running through plants. In the past I have tried growing new plants from cuttings and some did well when put in water with some miracle grow, they got roots and I put them in pots. Then there were some that just wouldn't take. My mother gave me something called rooting powder, it's some type of plant hormone that you dip the cut end of the plant into and keep it wet. This works really well for me. I would suggest trying that, you can find it at most retail stores in the garden section and is pretty inexpensive. I don't think putting the cutting directly into dirt will promote root growth, the plant will probably not make it. If you have some fertilizer like Miracle grow or something you could also try adding that to the water you have the plant in. Not to much as I think that could also kill the plants, but just a little. As for the water I really don't know if tap water is better then any other. I hope I've helped you at least a little. Best of luck to you. :)

You're welcome. I hope they produce roots for you so you can get them growing into healthy plants, and it's always nice to have fresh blueberries!

blueberries actually is something very new to my country since we always collect wild blueberries. Only in the last few years blueberry bush is topicality here. I have already two such blueberries in my garden and now i want them to be more, but i would like to raise seedlings by my own, not to buy them in local gardenings where they are costly enough.

I'm not sure but you have to increase soil fertilizer with those bad boys. Keep 'em under the sun.
