Depending on your computer specifications then burning DVD's or Music CD's can take alittle bit of time, which can be frustrating if you need to use your computer for other internet/work related jobs.
At present I am using Nero to burn disc's which works well but is not very fast in my humble opinion.
Does anyone know of or have any links to FREE downloadable software that can do the job of Nero but faster.
Any help would be appreciated....

There are many sites that offer free software but I prefer
www.freewarefiles.com
www.Softpedia.com offers a mixture of freeware, shareware, and trial versions.
www.download.com is another alternative. This site has been around for a long time.
Makeuseof dot come is a review site, and you get a link to download a reviewed software.

Freewarefiles.com is my favourite software download site. It has improved over the years. The latest changes which occurred around two months ago include a new user review/comment format. I used to use Cnet/Download.com until I found this site.
Have you subscribed to Makeuseof newsletter? Some links may not work because the review was done a long time ago. If you are interested in computers you may not regret subscribing to it. The reviews or articles can come in handy.

I have allways used Infra Recorder on windows (http://infrarecorder.org/) which is free, and very easy to use, and has allways been fast to use.
For Linux, Brasero has allways worked for me, and is commonly built into most distributions, including the popular Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com)
The speed will also depend on the maximum speed of your CD drive, this will either be labelled on the drive itself (like saying 52x) or can be found on your device manufacturer's website, or in Device manager (windows)
Hope that helps :)
