USELESS NEWS......why the need to broadcast them!!!

first of all i don't know nothing about the legalities and technicalities about mass media and broadcasting,,i must admit...and i also know that we are a free country...and this is just my view with regards to what i see on our local news here in the Philippines... every night i try to find time to have my daily dose of fresh news..its the only show on prime time i cant dare to miss..but it seems that it also never fails to show some non sense news...at least for me,,,,like covering a non sense gang war on a street,,a simple fist fight,,,and a drunk having a trouble somewhere...i could go on and on but the main point is that do we need to see this?,,even with the long coverage of the lives of the celebrities......there are a lot more to talk about than that i guess,,,there are a lot more that could somehow make a difference,,,i don't know i may be wrong...would someone please enlighten me...
