I would not be surprised with such a move. I think this season Anderson is struggling to break into playing XI. In the matches that he has played, his performances have been average and not of the standard expected by Sir Alex and Manchester United. I think he is a busy player, but not good enough at this level.
Cheers!

I disagrees with whoever says Anderson do not have the required skill to play in the premiership or MU his problem is more of attitude rather than aptitude. If he can just work hard I'm sure he will make the team in MU every week. There are players in the EPL who are not as skillful as him.In addition, players like Fletcher and Nani were also tagged not good enough for MU in the past.

It's a shame if he does quit united, a couple of years ago he was playing regular for United and playing well, He needs to get his focus back and try harder, he's a good player. I think he is too good for the Portugal league, and should try la liga if he want's to go anywhere. However he is never going to attract a club the size of United at this moment in time, so any move will be a step down.

portugal league is too good for him??
dont you remember many great players play and start their career from portugal league like rui costa, luiz figo, sergio concecaio, fernando couto..
and still play in portugal league like jose cardozo, aimar, javier saviola..

They may start and finish their career there, but in their prime play in better leagues. Figo played for Barca and Madrid. Look at Ronaldo, do you think he'd be the best player in the world if he didn't come to England and then go to spain. La liga, Seria A , Bundersliga and the EPL are better leagues than in Portugal.

I think if a player has a conflict with his manager, it is better to go to another team. Because it is obvious that Ferguson will never be sacked from Manchester, and therefore Anderson has no way of winning the fight with him. I don't think that returning to Portugal can be considered a step back in his career, as long as he will be a regular player and will perform well at his new club. But I don't think he will go there, he will try to find a team in the Premier League to play for.
