Quit often I feel that the press contributes nothing to improve our world, it's so often full of doom and gloom. BUT THIS TIME THEIR HELP BROUGHT THE ATTENTION OF THE WORLD TO BURIED MINERS. And so far it's with a wonderful outcome. I think without the Press behind this story the world would not have contributed the necessary help to get these guys out and what was their living quarters may very well have been their tomb. I clap with each reccovery.

The press has indeed done a great job to being the world attention during the most crucial moment where some might have given up hope for any survival for the buried miners. Without the untiring efforts of the press to update their reports, the miners could be a history by now.

hi pat,
i felt very moved about the drama that was coming around, seen on the tv screen, as one by one the miners were plucked from their supposed to be "coffin". my heart went to the wives and children who kept hoping that they will again be able to hold and kiss and embrace the love one.
i offer my thanks to the Lord and congratulations to the people responsible for making the rescue a success.
have a nice day.

I do think that the case of the miners in Chile is one of the few times that the press has been a positive contribution to society. I also think that all too often the press is stuck on cases of doom and gloom and the wonderful things that happen in this world aren't covered with as much importance as they should be covered. I am so happy that these miners were able to get out of their prison and I'm happy that it was so much earlier than they had predicted.

At least the press, with it constant coverage of the rescue, it giving us all the world over a GOOD story with happy endings! As I watch Television, there are 12 more miners to be brought up, which means they are over half done. It is very heart warming and it's just what the world needs right now! :-)

Hi savypat! I appreciate you giving notice to the other side of the press and giving it due recognition where it could have gone unnoticed and taken for granted. Kudos to you, too.

I have been enjoying the coverage all day to day. It is so inspiring to hear people cheer as each miner is brought up. As the Chilean president stated, this has proven that the whole world can work in unity. I am holding my breath a little, wanting to know they all make it safely. It is a relief that they have already brought up the miner that they thought was the weakest and most vulnerable.

I applauded each and every one of the men I saw come up from underground into the light and the arms of their loved ones. It sure is thanks to the media that we have all the up to date details of what has been going on in Chili. It is thanks to the press people who have not left the area in ages and who have reported each and every detail to us. This is one positive way the media is used for.

I always admire the press people esp those ones who are really devoted to what they're doing not just for the sake of getting paid for it.
There are lots of media men that sacrifices their lives for the sake of excellent and true broadcasting.
Thanks that you appreciate the press people and their job well done.
