Should Marijuana be legalized for recreational use?

With the difficult economic times upon many states, legislatures are seeking new forms of revenue.
California is the first state to consider the legalization of Marijuana as a means of creating revenue. This November California voters will have the opportunity to vote into law a new trend not seen the prohibition was lifted on alcohol.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you support this progressive idea? Should Marijuana become a recreational substance the same as alcohol?

I have no opinion about people who chose to use it or not. What I do think is that what is going our with our government that it has to use such strategies to get the economics more fruitful, what happen to other means of creating and multiplying the economics. Why do they think this is their solution.
Maybe people may or may not be responsible with it's use I just think our government has lost the concept of why they are there in office for.
