I have been glued to this TV covereage of the amazing rescue of the Chilean Miners! GOD BE PRAISED they look good! Congratulations to Chile! You have captured our hearts! Now, I know a bit of Spanish, but not enough to be able to read all that is on the back of their shirts. I just noticed #29 and #30 have what I believe is Scripture. Are they all wearing these shirts? Where did they come from? Can someone tell me what is written? I know they were very Spirit Filled in the mine. I heard them say that there were 34 men down there because the Lord never left them! Thank you Chile for sharing your successful family reunions with us the people of the world!

I was wondering the same thing myself. I just figured out what they were yelling every time one comes up. But now I want to know what it says on their shirts too!

Thank you for writing! They were chanting: C H I! CHI! L E! LE! It's the Chilean Chant. I think for soccer. I found an article that tells about the shirts: The scripture is Psalm 95:4 - To Him be the glory and honor. Because in His hands are the depths of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are His. the shirts also said "Thank you God". It is an interresting article: oregonfaithreports.com/2010/10/god-and-chilean-miner-rescue-stories/ I saw all but a few get pulled out and did witness these guys professing faith! This article did not stretch the truth!

I saw more information on the 700 Club this morning. So I was going to answer. Yes, that is the correct scripture. The only part written on the shirt is "To Him be the glory and honor. These shirts were sent down by the brother of one of the miners. Two miners said they gave their lives to Christ. Many others say they grew closer to God while trapped. One is quoted as saying that there were really thirty four people in the mine. God never left them. Good story, and a good morning.

Wow, isn't it amazing? I love them all (apart from the love-cheat lol but even he has been estranged from his wife for quite some time) and I've seen a lot of them come out but not all. How did the last rescue worker get himself out? We were wondering about that because a rescue worker had to be down there to strap each miner into the capsule. Anyone know?

hi long time no see wow. That was so great that they are finally rescued and I found myself with tears rolling down my cheeks as I watched them rescue each man. I could not see what was written on their shirt but I am sure it was something Scriptural. What a wonderful thing to see them all safely out. And what happiness now for all the ' families after so many days.

Yeah I know.. School started and I had some business traveling. I knew I could find some answers here on MyLot! Sorry I was gone so long!! Like you, I was bawling and kept thinking what that would be like for me to walk up to my rescued loved one. Be it brother, father... Each of those men were the center of life for someone! Not just miners. I could read the words Dos El and gloria so I knew it had to be something Biblical. It read from Psalm 95:4 "To Him be the glory and honor. Because in His hands are the depths of the earth, and the heights of the mountians are His. the shirts also said "Thank you God" The families are going to need prayer in these next months as they try to go back to their new "normal". The medias are also going to be all over these families. Thanks for writing! Good to hear from you agian! Bear

I am sorry, I cannot read what their shirt says. It is a miracle that they have made it out alive. I have to give credit to the country for doing whatever it had to to get to those guys. They did not let pride stand in the way of asking for help.

The shirts read from Psalm 95:4 "To Him be glory and honor. Because in His hands are the depths of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are His." they also said "Thanks to God". Chile did ask for help and many nations came forward! I'm so proud to see our world working to gether to save brothers of humanity! It doesn't matter who you are or wher you live. If you need help, we should all be there! Countries that helped: Canada, Germany, US, Argentina, Spain and South Africa! Thank you for writing! Bear

Though have not seen the rescue in progress, I share the joy of their family members and the world of the success in rescuing the miners. Praise the Lord.

I understand that there was help from many nations to get those men out. I can't imagine how proud Chile is right now! Their President went out on a limb to PROMISE he was getting those guys out! Di dyou know that Chile shut downtheir public schools so kids could stay home and watch the TV rescue? Isn't that amazing? Can you imagine USA ever shutting down to watch a rescue and praise God for safety?! Wouldn't that be awesome! The shirts read from Psalm 95:4 "To Him be glory and honor. Because in His hands are the depths of the earth, and the heights of the mountians are His. they also said "Thank you God" Thanks for writing! Bear

I'm so happy to hear that they were rescued! I don't keep up with the news like I should, I hate to say. However, I see it when I turn on my computer everyday. I couldn't tell you if they were all wearing the same shirts or not. I'm sure their family members were all relieved! I'm sure they will all have to go to a hospital to mke sure they are all right. I'm just glad they're all alive at least.

I did not see the later ones. I understand that the shirts and flags and stuff were sent down to them, so that they could be decent when they were pictured all over the world. It is wonderful to see and hear them express their faith.I also understand that statues of the Virgin Mary were lowered to them as well.

I am not sure of what was written there either. However, I see such a source of pride for all those miners and their families. The country of Chile and all of the workers who helped to rescue these 33 men should be so proud of the work that they have done with this rescue. This shows that if countries work together, great things can happen. I wish all 33 of these men and their families the best in the future.

I don’t speak the language either so I don’t have any idea expect that some were wearing t-shirts which had been signed by all the miners. Wasn’t it a fantastic thing to see? I cried and applauded at the same time as each of the men was brought up into the light. It was a fantastic and amazing job by the rescuers. I know they are all out by now and that is good news!

This is another success story of humanity. The world joined hand in hand prays together for the safety of those miners. This proves that, inspite of global crisis and world problems, event like this touches everyone's heart and somehow let us forget our own troubles and problems. This bring us (the whole human race) to say one prayer and thanks no matter what religion or race we believed and belong to.

Yes I have watching Chile Rescue in news channels. But I don’t know that what written behind on men’s shirts. But it is good that mostly workers are out of the miners by miners with the help of a capsule lifts.

.....Hi there, I was watching last night and some of today. Thank goodness they were kept alive and they are all coming out. This kind of experience bring everybody around the world into one room with hope and prayers for the people involved and their families. I have no idea about the shirts, they probably wrote the messages on them as they started to come up to speak to the world. I love the fact that NASA scientists went to Chile to help them, proving that we are all in this together. Take care. Hope you get your questions answered. Take care.

I was on vacation with my Mom, but when we would stop at the motel, we'd turn on the TV to watch what had happened. I'm happy for the miners and their families and for Chile and for all those who lent support. Wish we had lots of happy endings like this one.
