What can I build with a bunch of 2x2's?

I brought home a bunch of pressure treated 2x2's a while ago, they are smaller in length, all cutoffs from projects I worked on with my boss. Now I have them at home and I don't know what to do with them. I wanted to build benches with them, but now I'm not so sure. I'm thinking about building some sort of protective cover for my firewood since I don't have anything to cover it with except some lousy plastic. I'm not sure if I can even do anything with it, but I have some plywood sheets, not full sheets, they've been cut up to remove them from a porch banister. But I think I could use all of these and combine them to make some sort of shelter. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan there. And sounds like you got a good start to getting it completed as well! You saved yourself a bundle! Plus we all know how frustrating it can be to have to wait for wood to dry good before we can get the fire going! I say go for it!!

Can't. They're pressure treated and are toxic. Otherwise I would.

Nope don't do that then!!!How long are they? If they are long enough you might wanna go back to your original idea and grab some ply wood and build a shelter for your wood!

How long are the 2 x 2/s an how many are there? How big are the plywood sheets and how many? How much space does the firewood take up and what shape is the space you want to have it in?

They are about 2' long for the most part, and there is about 2 dozen, maybe more or less. The plywood sheets are about 3.5' long and wide, but do have pieces cut out of them. I have 3 of them. The firewood at the moment doesn't take up a lot of space, but there's not much of it right now. I have it near the back door of the house, I might change the location and put it on the concrete near our bedroom window on the north side of the house. There will be more length to put it, so I'd have to build a long shelter. It would probably be about 6-7' long. I'll have to measure to be exact and the depth would only be about 12".

I asked cause I am very good working with wood and thought it was possible,if I knew what you had to suggest something usefull. If you have pieces missing in the plywood and they will still hold wood larger than the holes its ok. Any way here is another idea. Find an area next to the house, garage, shed, or other standing spot and build onto it using that spot as one of the sides. It will make your structure that much larger if wood isn't needed on one of one of the sides. Its a lot harder to suggest what to put where without seeing the what. Good luck. If you were near me, I would help you. Gene

or if you have a dog you can make a beautiful dog house out of that. or just stick to your original plan to make it as a bench. its more fulfilling when your tired and sat on that chair knowing you made it out of a 2x2 scrap.

I do have a dog, but he would rather laze around inside rather than outside. He likes to sit in the mud outside, although I try to prevent that from happening.
