Do you treat your Dog like a Human?

I was watching my guilty pleasure today, Oprah. On her show it was what is normal and what wasn't. Well it talked about Pet Owners. They said 94% national average of pet owners treat their pets likea human. I think they were talking about dogs. If you saw the episode you can correct me on that. They showed a lady that would call and leave her dog messages on the phone for her dog. That was a little much for me. Do you do that? When I got my first puppy he was our baby and he thought he was. I rocked him to sleep even. When we would go to work we would put music on for him partly just in case he barked neighbors wouldn't hear him so we wouldn' get caught at the apartment complex, but part because I didn't want him to get lonely. Then we got our second puppy to keep him company. She wasn't as babied as he was. And now that I have a real baby you would have never known that they were my fury children because they are just cute dogs. This is sad. How many people has this happened too after they have had kids?

I can say I partially treat my dogs as human, I kiss and hug and talk to them. I cradle my new puppies and sleep with them. They also eat what we eat, my dogs always ask for food, when they see you eating whatever it is, they will come up to you.

I do treat my dog like a human.I think he is the best company I can have. My son is grown up he is away my husband gets back very late so i am all alone. My dog follows me everywhere i keep talking to him I feel he does understand. But he is so cute. Such an expressive face he has.I know that he is my security guard. I am not afraid to stay alone as he will never allow anyone to enter even if I open the door. When my husband is not home he is extra cautious, very alert.Dogs are such lovely creatures.

Leaving messages on the phone for the dog is a little much for me, too.
I love my dog and I try to satisfy all her needs, but I'm talking about dogs' needs, not humans'. I talk to my dog a lot and I spoil her, but I can't tell I treat her as a human. She's a dog and my love won't change that, no matter how much I want to.
Treating a dog like a human isn't good for the dog. They may suffer because their needs aren't satisfied, as dogs' needs are different from humans' needs.
