I am green because....
Everybody else seems to be doing better than me here.
I ride a scooter to work, it gives me 75 Kilometers per liter of petrol. I can take my car, but it gives me only 13 KMPL, More hydrocarbon for the same job and more pollution.
I do not use plastic bags or tissue paper. I use a paper bag 20 times over before I actually throw it away. I prefer to wash my hands than use a tissue paper to wipe. Same goes for the roll. Nothing is disposable for me.
I do not print and prefer electronic storage, even if my boss hates it.
I use rechargeable batteries which last me an year, than a normal alkaline cell which would last only a week.
And there are many more of such things. What do you do to be green?

Wow, you are really into it. That is great. I am on the contrary to you. I wash my hands and wipe it with tissues. So, I need lots and lots of tissue every month, as I am fastidious in washing hands, especially after hand shaking with other people, counting some money, doing photocopy, stacking files, even after a long writing on the computer. I just need to wash my hands.
So, I guess I am red.

@jennyze your way of contributing to the environment can be the Indian greeting of Namaste, widely used in your place, imagine the amount of tissue paper you could save.
@prwlshrma I am already seeing red, environmentally. Sadly.

I guess I don't do that much. I use plastic bags but reuse them for trash bags. I use those new fangled lightbulbs too. I have always been a saver. I save on gas by not making multiple trips. I keep up on my car and so it doesn't emit alot of hydrocarbons. Could be worse I guess.

i am a saver too! Only sometimes I wonder if I am a miser. What I know for sure is it takes a saver to save, money or mother Earth. Glad you are on my side in this.

I don't know why you say everyone is doing better than you. I think you are doing well since you are new. I uce cloth bags, and energy saver light bulbs. We try to buy green as much as we can afford. We grow organic but I can't really say I think what we are doing will help the planet much.

Busted! I tend to use some tongue-in-cheek comment to just to see how people react. Got busted this time. It always starts small, eventually we find more and more things that help. One thing I have found out is that we save a lot during this effort. Good reward instantly.

I too does my share for contributing being green... I live in a small corner of my big big office LOL. So, I don't take any vehicle going to work. Actually before I moved into my little space i rented a room just a few minutes walk. I go to the market and stores walking and baCK too though sometimes I ride but the mode of transport here is a pedaled trcycle. And I go home to my homeplace once in a while and take the public bus.
I carry my own plastic bags or a cloth bag for buying stuff and re-use it many many times too. I use towels for wiping my hands and I don't use toilet paper or tissue paper in the bathroom. More often, the tissue roll is reserved for the visitors LOL
BAck at home, we have a vegetable garden and it's organic. And proper waste disposal is always practised.

Good! Rural folks are the most green of all! It is we the urban population who cause this havoc. It is time we actually do something.

People say I live in green but this how my family has always lived. I was taught never to waste. I recycle everything and don't buy products that are wasteful.

That is the way to live. Life should be like cattle grazing, eating grass above ground, not like goats grazing, uproot the grass and destroy the whole pasture. The whole nature depends on renewal and we should respect it.

Wow, you sure are doing a lot for our environment. I am really trying to be better at this too. Slowly starting to make changes in my life. Recycling, Not using too much electricity every day, using dish towels instead of paper towels and not using so much water when showering or doing dishes and laundry, but it takes all of us to save our planet. I admire your work and would like to get better at it too. Good luck, to all of us.

It does take all of us. I started doing this because I wanted to save money. (Yeah! I am frugal, miser? maybe) Now it has become a habit and I leave no trash behind me. Feel proud too!
