Hi. I would return things if there is an address or phone number on it. But I have not come accross such a situation yet. I have only found coins and sometimes rupee notes on the ground and always have given it either as an offering to the temple or have added some money and given it for charity.
God knows how much the person who lost it would suffer. I dont need the money from another person's pain. That is what I teach my daughter too.

As for me, i will check first if there is any IDs or the whereabouts of the owner, then, i will surely return it because it is not mine, besides, that could be hard earned money for that person, if in case no IDs whatsoever, it depends on the location, if it is in the airport, i will surely surrender the items to the proper authorites with acknowledgement receipt that they receive such item and make sure that they will make some proper announcement on it. Now, if i have bad intention, naturally, i will not return or exert effort to return the same, but what if this happen to me, how would i feel? Of course, it will be painful experience to me, better to follow the saying, do to others what you would have them do to you. Do you believe on this saying?

Yes, I believe and good answer because not yet happened to you... I will see if this things happend to you then on that moment you need money for the most important part of your life - what is in your mind and action to do. Then no indication of the owner.

I would certainly not return anything which I find, as the saying goes, finders keepers, loosers weepers. You might be shocked at my statement, but that is the honest truth. So many people will say that they will return things which they find. usually the things which are returned are, the ones which can be easily tracable. If some body finds cash or jewels, I do not think they will return it.

hello,
I will return the things as long as there's address indicated if it is a thing.
If a wallet full of bills surely there's few ID inside,of course i will surely give it back to the owner.
I found a mobile and called some number in the contacts and return it to the owner.
I withdraw money from the bank and few thousands excess, and i return it back to the teller (oh,i was already in the mall when i found out those excess thousand, since i was in a hurry by that time that i was not able to count the money inside the bank)
I paid my shopping items amounting a bit bigger than usual shopping when i saw the money inside the envelope and,i can feel that there is something.
So,i asks my husband that we eat somewhere first and while waiting for our order i counted the money and yes,few thousands in excess.
I called the bank and told them what happened (it's already past 6pm,the back's closed already but employees esp the manager still's inside)
So,after having our dinner we go back to the bank and return the money.
It's always good to have peace of mind and at the end of the day you can sleep peacefully with clear conscience.

Hi there! If I am in this situation, I would definitely return the items to the owner. For example, if I found a wallet, I would check the contact number of the person and let him or her know that I found his or her wallet. If there is no contact number in sight, I would check the address and deliver it to him or her. The item is not mine and I have no right to keep it. And besides, if it were me who lost the item, I would definitely want to have it back. So I would return it to the owner if I would be in this situation.

Well, if I had to think in the theory, I can't tell you for sure if it's the same thing what comes to my mind that what I would do in real life. However something related has happened to me. One day a woman who was withdrawing money from the ATM left her credit card in it and left without noticing. In that moment without thinking I took the card and called her in a loud voice hoping she would hear me before leaving the place so I could give it back. She noticed and I gave her the card.
If I did that with a credit card, I imagine that I can do it with other valuable things.

I will return it/them. As the saying goes, do unto others what you would like others do unto you, right? And besides I don't like to keep things for myself which are not mine, I want to get the things I want in life through hard work so I can be proud.

i remember an incident about 3 years ago, when i was freshman in the college and i found a pen drive unattended in the corridors. plugged the device to see whether it bears the name of the owner or not, but i could not get it. so i submitted the pen drive to our department head and was appreciated for the effort.
after the owner was found as he placed a note on the notice board, he thanked me for my honesty and it was a different kind of happiness which i can't express.

If I found money or anything valuable I will return them. Not to do is dishonesty and I term it as stealing. If you find something valuable or money and you don't have the strength of character to return it.This means if you have the opportunity to steal you will.

I do believe that what is yours is yours, and what is not yours is not yours. During university, there has been 2 occasions i found a phone somewhere and both times i returned it to its rightful owner. Taking someone else's thing is same as stealing and i don't think stealing is of any good :p
