I know how to use the laptop but I don't know how to maintain the battery. I bought my laptop few months ago. When it's battery got drain I charged it and when its full already I don't remove the charging because I use my laptop like 6-10 hrs a day. Don't really know if its good for the battery. How about you? How do you maintain your battery? And how long you been using it? Is it still in good condition?

I heard from somebody that battery life span actually depends on the number of time you charge it. That is why those expert tells not to use battery (unplug it) if there is power source available. Once you started to use battery, make sure you use it until low before you charge it full.

You mean if the battery is fully charged, I should remove it from the laptop and use power instead? Is it okay to remove the battery when it's drain and use power to my laptop and charge the battery after that day. Or should the battery be fully charged before I detached it from the laptop?

Yes. Better charge it full before you detach it from your computer. Leaving it drain for long time will cause the battery faulty easily.

well battery life depends on how you use. as for myself, I don't use my battery in my laptop when I'm at home to maintain the battery life. My friends said that if you charge the battery while using the laptop will shorten the battery life so that its better to just take it off then plug the laptop. Just use the battery for emergency

Do you take off the battery after you fully charged it or when its low battery you remove the battery and work with the power and leave the battery uncharged?

How long have you been using the battery? I mean is it a new battery or it the original battery of your laptop?

the battery in my laptop is no longer in good dishion. it will last only 15 mins or so. it was desiged to last 1 hour and 15 mins. to maintain it I am not supposed to over charage it. I kept it plugged up on the desk for a most of the time and since i had it, the battery has worn out. I mostly use my power cord to run my laptop so the battery is not that much concerd for me. my laptop is more than 4 years old and I am sure I will need a new one soon.

My battery is toast! When I sat with my son in the hospital I didn't unplug it and let it run down often enough so it ended up messing it up. I have pretty much no battery now. I have to keep it plugged in all the time when I am using it now.

I don’t know much about laptop battery because I have no any laptops. So I am not able to tell you that how to maintain your laptops battery. But I want to say you can charge your laptop battery for 5-6 hours in a day and it gives you good backup after getting full charging.

I use my laptop for my research work mainly, no videos, music or playing games, well i chat with friends at night, i keep it over a book of smaller size so that there is adequate ventilation to prevent over heating of battery, it is plugged to the mains most of the times, i don't have any problem, every one hour or so, i swich off the power plug switch to which it is connected.. Thanks for sharing Cheers. God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘Bhuwan’.

haha =D According to my friend, a laptop battery can only last 1000 charge before it becomes useless. What he recommend is that, only charge your battery when it's flat, dun use both battery and power plug at the same time. That will only cause your battery to die out faster and even cause your laptop to overheat, resulting in fire.. haha
