Friends my granddaughter, Subhee’s 3rd birthday was celebrated on 8th of this month. She got lot of presents, but the most appealing was a live, red beaked parrot in a cage. It was given by my elder sister. Because Subhee used to play with it, whenever she goes her house. She now passes time with this parrot feeding her. I have asked her mom to be careful, it may bite her finger.Professor

hi professor, it is a nice gift and subhee will learn the value of care and responsibility, with the help of the elders. she will understand what will make the parrot sick and what the parrot likes.. and surely she will have the wonderful thought of making the parrot talk to her. that would be wonderful, isnt it? have a nice day. ann

That sounds wonderful for Subhee. If she has played with this parrot before, she has probably already learned that it may bite. Since parrots generally live to an old age, she will have a good companion for a long time. Subhee will have her parrot chattering in no time at all.

A pet for her birthday. It is very good as people love to spend their boring time with their pets.I am too scared that if she fiddles a lot with the parrot it may bite her.Pets too have brains, they do not attack people who take care of them.It is just the strange people they attack.Try to keep the parrot safe because once my pet parrot was let out of the cage and a cat came and stole it away.

I had one. They are really loud. Yes! They bite fingers :) Isn't she too small for an animal? But the idea is great. The kids have love animals from young age. They have to learn to take care of them, to love them. Great pesent!

hi p rofessor that parrot is gorgeous. what a nice gift for her but yes she has to be careful. I did not about the biting until my sister when I was still single got a parakeet. she told me to opem the cage gate and her parakeet would sit on my finger.WRong I opened the gate and the parakeet did not sit on my finger, she bite my finger instead. oh the pain, oh I would not wish that on a 3 year old child either wow. I was so shocked and my sister just laughed while I mopped up the blood. Now I do know better.

LOL this cage has a small door with a hook, we have put a lock there, more over Subhee can push her tiny fingers there throgh the ribs of the cage, hence it is made to hang from a height.. Thanks for sharing your experience. Professor. . Cheers

Happy belated birthday to Subhee! A parrot is a nice gift, even for a 3 years old. I never received one of those before. Can it speak yet? It would be awesome if it does. I think that parrot (what's it's name anyway?) will be an awesome way for Subhee to learn about about lots of thing.

Very Kool!..And a lifelong companion to boot. I hope she doesn't tire of it as she gets older tho. As the owner of a red lored I know they require a lot of attention as well as care and specialized vet services and get highly fussy when ignored..

Hi Professor, Happy Birthday to Subhee's!!! God Bless you Dear. Its really nice for any child to have a gift in the form of a pet,its healthy to have a pet at one's house though it brings lots of responsibility as well, and your grandddaughter will start learning it very early in her childhood, and grow up like a responsible human-being. Generally it is known fact that the house where there is a pet......the people of that house is physically/mentally healthy people and very rarely visit the hospital. Happy mylotting, and pet keeping.

That's pretty cool. When I was younger, I wanted a parrot as a pet but my parents said they're too much to handle. Well, they were probably right!
