The cellphone has now pretty much embedded itself in our daily lives..there are teens and older young people who won't now remember there NOT being cellphones around...I too grew up with landlines and payphones as the only means to keep in touch at home or away..I could go back to that..Though I now have a cellphone,I'm carrying the thing around mostly so my work can contact Me,or so I can stay in touch when away from home..I still have a landline for my internet connection..I could do without the cellphone..

I guess I could live without a cell phone. It would make my work life little harder but if I have to, I could do it. I travel a lot & my job depends heavily on being able to communicate with my office. Constantly having to look for a place where I can connect my laptop or having to look for a phone would be really annoying. I have always had a cell phone since I turned 18 & that was little over 20 years ago, I'm currently 39 & will be turning 40 in about 2 1/2 month. 20+ years of habbit is pretty hard to break, so I'm finding out.

That was the time when communication is so hard. Friends come into your house just to talk to you but now since cellphone is invented, friends are just text away but the bonding suffers cause you hardly see each other. It was quiet world without cellphone.

My life before I got a cellphone was very normal. But now, I am just so used to having a cellphone that it has become a necessity to me. It would be so hard now a days not to have a cellphone. Everyone has cellphone already. Even poor people in my country has cellphones.

I used to think I could live without cellphones since my life started without it, but as a working mom to a 6-year old kid who goes to grade school, cellphone is the only means his school can communicate with me asap when there's an emergency. And in my line of job, people can contact me through my cellphone if the internet is down. So i guess most of my activities are cellphone dependent so i couldn't seem to shrug it off.

I think I could definitely live without my cellphone. I don't really use it often, it's just that I need to send a message of at least once or twice during the day to ask my parents about something or a friend or a sibling. It's not that I really use it the whole day like some business person does.
I can definitely leave my cellphone at home if I wanted to. If I forget the phone, there's no fuss.
I do remember the time when there were no cellphones. Life was easier then. People were prompt because there was no other way on telling the person you'd be late or something once the deal was up. However, it was a little bit uncomfortable for some because you can't get hold of someone that quickly as compared to now.
What I just don't like about now is the fact that most people would rather talk on the phone than to meet with friends. It somehow bridges the gap of people around the world yet there are definitely some disadvantages to it. One of which is that there are more people getting killed because of robbery and most involve the cellphone.

I remember when we'd agree with friends to meet at a certain place and time, and I'd wait hours and hours before my friend/s would finally arrive or I decide that I got stood up. Now, it's just a matter of -
