They're both big countries with a large population, meaning they can produce massively and at low cost a number of products. Most of us own a great number of things that are "made in China" but India is not that far behind, considering that it is smaller in size. Which one do you think will be more successful faster? In other words, what language would you start learning just in case? :P

I think u have the wrong idea!!!!!
Most of the north Indian People speak their own Language which is Hindi and also their regional languages like Marathi .
In southern parts they speak their own regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam.
We speak English when we are supposed to speak!!
That is when we are conversing with a foreigner we use english.
U could never find me talking to my friend in English in my neighborhood!!

oh sorry,forgive my ignorance!!!
I know English are your offical language. You do not use that in daily life.
To my surprise, there are so many kinds of regional languages in India.
When someone selecting a foreign language to study, chinese is better, after all Indian's English is better than chinese so he can talk to more people in the
world,I mean.

In that case, it is true , we speak better English because English is the main course in Indian Schools and Colleges..
So, opting a foreign language, then it would be German or Japanese...

China will develop faster, the main reason being it is a communist country, where there are not rights for the people, and whatever the government decides, the people have to obey.
India is not like that, it is the biggest democracy in the world, and in a democratic nation, the people are the real power, and if they do not like any government policies, that particular government will be booted out in the next election. This is not the case in China, where they can take any unpopular decessions, and the people are bound to obey it.
Not only that, the Judiciary in India is quite powerful, and the courts can stop any policies, which the people do not like.Of course this is a plus point for the people, but there are elements which throw a spanner in the developmental projects by going to the courts for some silly reasons and stopping the development of the projects.
So yes. I think China will certainly develop faster than India.

It will be China. Most of the products here in USA are made from China, so as in other countries. They are also into technology and they are good in money management. Their young kids are train how to start a new business. How to earn money. So it means that most of the people there are up to improvement. Their only fall back is the population. Years from now their working population will be scarce due to their 1 child policy. And with India I think their are doing good with their development. I think as long as you learn the English language you will be fine. It will be a plus if you learn other language to,but if you will learn Chinese that will be too hard because though they are Chinese speaking people they have too many different dialect or language too. Fukien, Mandarin, Cantonese etc. And the writing too. I will stick with English. Hehe. Then hire a translator.

Personally, and this is not meant to say that India will not be powerful as well in the future, I think China will be the next big power. I think the signs that dictate the rise of a new great power are: a strong economy, a strong military, and a strong government.
A strong economy is not just governed by how much a market sells - just as quantity cannot survive without quality. For example, you may be a big rice exporter, the biggest in the world, but that may also mean that you are lacking in other faculties. A convenient baseline for me to check how strong the economy of a country is is to check just how many car companies it sustains. China has produced quite a number of car brands and they might actually outnumber America's in the future. That of course, depends on whether they can improve current designs to make them greener.
I doubt anyone will argue against the capabilities (or numbers?) of the Chinese military. -_-
A strong government may not always be a popular one. But so far, social unrest seems under control in China...not counting of course, recently annexed countries like Tibet.

Chinese government is not a strong government, it is nothing but dictatorship. The only difference is it is not the induvidual but the communist party here is the dictator.

I Like Globalization and there should be peace throughout the nations that too in Asia Pacific.
i'm an Indian and i consider India would be developing soon .
China have been developed being a permanent member of the United Nations.
Most of the products has the tag telling "Made In China" or Japan.
Soon or later, we are trying to export products of Indian Origin.
There are still Products coming out with "Made in India" tags.
Yet, yes we need time to reach the global goal ..

I think it is India which will be above many economies in the world. India will be a better economy than China. There are a few good reasons which make me stand to my point.
1. Population: Chinese Population comprises of more than 55% of population whose age group is in between 45 years to 55 years and from the remaining 45% around 15% to 20% population comprises of children with an average age below 15 years, Remaining are youngsters. On the other hand, Around 60% of the Indian population comprises of people whose age lie in between 25 years to 40 years. This is a very crucial factor, thats gonna affect growth of any country.
2. Emerging Economy : Chinese economy is not an emerging economy and it has already neared to its saturation point. Where as India is emerging and a rapidly developing economy.
3. Mistake of Chinese Industrialists : The Chinese people came up with a very bright idea of producing in bulk and selling it cheap around the world. But the overlooked the aspect of quality, and todays customer has become aware of quality issues. At the same time, India has also producing in bulk to some extent but it has maintained quality products in the international market.
4. Chinese are now a days spending relatively higher amounts of funds on their armed forces where as India has also increased this amount but relatively lesser then China.
5.Many of the companies are preferring outsourcing to India rather than China due to language Issues.
There are a few more reasons and you can even find them on net. Just Check it out. Once I saw a video about this topic on Youtube. Check it out if it is still there. The guy gave many reasons and I got convinced.
