Well, if you need my opinion. I would without any doubt say that you should always do what makes you happy. So, if writing makes you happy you should do it. But I would also like to say. If your happiness causes pain to others then don't do it. Because we are good people and would prefer others happiness over ours. Everybody lives for himself or herself but the genuine person is the only one who lives for other. Always write good things and positive things.

If writing is what you love, then by all means you should pursue it. Writing comes from the heart, not from how much education you may or may not have. don't let anyone discourage your dreams. Just follow your own heart.

Sure! You don't have to have a 'formal' education in writing. For one thing, you should have decent grammar if you are going to write for publication. If you don't have good grammar-you can take out a grammar book and learn-or you can hire a tutor.
The second thing is to be interesting and have a good writing style. You get that from reading good books and paying attention to the author' style, and practice writing yourself.

You don't have to have a formal education to be a writer, but you do need to educate yourself. If you're willing to learn how to write well, and don't expect to be published until you *can* write well, then I'd say go for it. It isn't easy to become a good writer, and you have to have the patience to work at it for a long time, maybe years.

I was once a kid who wrote poems and stories. They were cheesy and typical teenage romantic. But I wanted to be a writer, a poet even. I will go to college and learn.
Then I grew up, took up biology, and forgotten all about the dream.
I've talked to professors, writers, and read many journalists and literature artists, and they all have the same, basic advice for anyone who wishes to become a writer.
Start writing NOW.

I agree writing needs some skill and imagination. But for this formal training is not a must. You shoud know the language used as a medium for writing. For example, if in english, you must know English better.Try to write in your language with good imagination.I wish you good luck.

If you love to write then write. A writer is someone who writes. Most want to be published many never are, probably because they do not pursue publishing hard enough but with today's opportunities, here, blogs, twitter. Write away and enjoy what you love. Develope your skill, join a writers group most are very kind and helpful.

I doubt most writers have a formal education in writing. Most of them have started out in different jobs. John Grisham, for instance, started out as lawyer and uses his knowledge of that for the background to a lot of his books.
Keep writing, the more you write, the better you will get.

You don't need to be formally trained to write. You can join a short writing workshop. These are classes that are more or less short (about a month to 3 or 4, depending on the program) and encourage you to bring your work for comments (this is how you learn to do it, and it shouldn't be a discouragement).
Go for it! If you're not looking for a writing workshop, then maintain a blog and force yourself to post something new everyday! :)
