Hi there! ever since im young, I remember that we always went to cemetery every November 1st. We brought candles and flowers to our departed loved ones and say our prayers for their souls. This day was also a sort of reunion for us because almost all of our relatives were there to pay our respect and remember our departed loved ones. This time, im going to visit my mother and father, grandfather/grandmother and other close relatives and very much willing to spend my whole day to be there once more. How about you my dear myLotters? will you go to the cemetery this coming November 1 or 2? How will spend your day there and who will you visit there? Good night!

Hi, Ever since I started working I stop visiting our departed loved ones in the cemetery. Its because I work far from home, miles miles away from home.Unlike the other company and establishments we still have work during these days, its hard to get a vacation leave and airfare is too expensive since its peak. But of course I dont forget them,I go to church and pray for their souls.

Hello cherryamor! NIce to know that you're still remembering your departed loved ones though you are busy there at your work. Sometimes, because of too much work loads, others may find it difficult to have some time going to the church. Your family was so lucky to have you, I do hope that you will be the same and never ever change your old ways. Good night!

Hello! Well, November 1st in our country is All Saints Day, many of us Filipinos visit the grave sites of our departed loved ones, bring flowers and light candles to them while praying for the eternal repose of their souls. Its also a sort of family reunion for us because this was declared as National Holiday. Im glad that we have this kind of tradition to observed to because we are very family oriented and we love to be with our loved ones even if we're only seeing the place we're they were placed after leaving us. Thanks a lot for your kind words shaggin, more power and good night!

Hello Hatley! I am so glad that you have your special day there as well remembering your departed loved ones. We Filipinos also clean, repainted and beautify the graves of our deceased family member or relatives and maybe friends in preparation for our annual celebration of All saints/souls day here in the Philippines. I do loved that day too for it was a single day dedicated just for them, no work to think about except being there and offer some prayers and loved to our departed family members. I wish you good luck and more power my friend!

We don't have this custom in our family, but there is this tradition in our country as well. We haven't developed this custom because we lived far from our ancestors graves and had no time to travel so much. We think that the memories of our departed ones can be honored and respected in my souls, not by going out to the cemetery. The graves are taken care of, but not on November 1 or 2, but on other occasions. But I think this is a good tradition, unfortunately we cannot keep it.

Hello! We only have one world to lived at but i am so amazed by our differences and im just glad that being an inhabitant of this one and only world, we're still united in being peaceful and respective of each other's differences and beliefs. I agree with you, you've got your own way to still honor the souls of your departed loved ones and im happy knowing that all of us have their own way of still remembering them though they're not communicating with us anymore. Have a nice day to you and take care!

The whole family would definitely go the cemetery this Halloween. Hear mass and then offer flowers and prayers for our loved ones. And prayers for those who were abandoned. It has been a tradition in our family to visit the cemetery during halloween. And I can that there are lots of people going there too.

Hi there! Filipinos do observed this family tradition/culture and I just loved this thing for this really shows how close we are to our families. Filipinos are known for the very close family ties and we certeinly value our family so much. Our togetherness and attachment with each other was terrible and even some of our relatives had gone and leave us here on earth already, we still remember them and offered prayers for them too. I always visit the grave of my father/mother even if its not November 1st, especially when im problematic and needs someone to burst out all my emotions with. Even if they're gone, I find comfort just to be close to them still and asked them to still guide and help me to deal with all the challenges and problems im into. Yes, that's for sure, a lot of people will go to the cemetery including me and you of course. Good night!

Hi there! Yes, I must say that what you did during November 1st and 2nd was also done by almost all Filipinos because of our yearly tradition of how we should observed All saints/souls day. There's no given rule anyway but we were showned that bringing flowers, candles and prayers to our deceased loved ones was the real essence of celebrating the event. The day is really intended in observance and commemeration of our love to all our loved ones who passed away already. Good night and more power!

I haven't go to cemetary for a long times already. Being stay far away from hometown didn't help at all. Before I move away from my home town, I always do it on 2nd November. It's the all soul days. On the 1st, it's the all saints day so I didn't go to cemetary.

Hello! Many of us were used to go every 1st of November in the cemetery but they said that it's really on November 2nd that we should visit our departed loved ones because its their true special day. Even us, visited our departed relatives every November 1st but we still pray for them and lit candles the day after. I understand why you can't go to the cemetery at all, just don't forget to pray for your departed loved ones and i am sure that it would help them in their lives beyond. HAve a nice day ahead!
