14 is too young. I think in my state you have to be 15 but even that is really young. I think even from when I learned to drive there are a lot more distractions. I never had to worry about a cell phone. Kids these days don't seem like they pay attention to some things as much as others. I am still dreading preschool to think about driving totally scares me. Good luck and hope they all turn out to be good drivers when they are ready.

As a rule, I think 14 is too young. Driving takes emotional maturity to an extent, and not just physically being able to drive. I don't see anything wrong with kids driving around on the farm or some place like that, but to have them driving in traffic and high speeds scares me.

yea- i am thinking 16 for permits and 17 for driving license is the best. but some people get so tired of runing their children every where they are happy to let them go ahead and drive.not me .

Where do you live that you can get a driving permit at 14 years old? Where I live you have to be 16. I think 14 is too young to have a drivers permit. I'm nervous about teaching our kids to drive, I can't imagine having 3 at the age to drive at the same time. My oldest is 8 also so I've got 8 years before I have to worry about it lol. I don't think it would be wrong for you to make them wait a little longer if you don't think they are ready for it.

I definitely think that it is too young. In fact, children have to be sixteen years old here to get a learner's permit and I even think that sixteen is too young as well because there is a lot of maturity and judgement that I think someone that is that young is lacking. That said, I have a daughter that is going to be eight years old soon and I don't want to punish her, but I also don't want to run the risk of her getting injured because of the lack of maturity that she will have when she reaches legal driving age.

OMG yes, and I would never let my child drive this young. Here in FL they can get their permit at 15 mostly for agriculture reasons, but still too young if you ask me. Ugh!
