Michael Ireland Lap Dance Settlement $650,000: Bizarre Lap Dance Injury A bit crazy of a story to hear about, but it's true. Turns me off pretty bad to hear how he is a lap dance lover and got the bad end of it. But then again, you do have to feel bad for him as a really painful and terrible injurty he had. I'll post the article in link so I you can read (don't want to get in trouble with copyright by copy/pasting). ;o) Do you guys feel bad for him, or find it a good excuse to tell your partner or others not to waste money hiring lap dancers?! Check it out. http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212327706.shtml

hi Loen I somehow do not know just who Micheal Ireland is but 'that kind of injury is really horrid and must be very painful but I am sitting here thinking if he had not wanted a lap dancer in t he first place he would now be having both eyes well and functioning. Must be the female in me, but to me 'lap dancing is not exactly somehting I will stand up and cheer for. to each his own however. lol lol.

From the point of view that he asked for & paid for a lap dance, he should NOT have been there in the first place!!! My understanding of lap dances is that it is mainly a woman gyrating over a man's genital area. I'm still trying to grasp the concept of how he was kicked in the eye??? The club's insurance company is who agreed to the $650,000 settlement. The club still refuses to admit any fault in the matter. So, if he wants more, he will have to sue the club direct. The dancer now says that while she was in the midst of the kick, she felt somebody grab her butt. I'm sorry, does an exotic dancer who does private lap dances not expect her butt to be grabbed??? Assuming that a private lap dance only included Michael & the dancer, did he not grab her butt??? If he was the one grabbing her butt, I still don't understand how she kicked him in the eyes & even harder time understanding how she kicked him so hard as to crush the bone around his eye. That had to be one hell of a kick!!! Yes, I'm sorry his eye was damaged to the point that he can no longer see properly. Yet, I feel he could NOT possibly have been kicked in the eye had he NOT gone to the club, asked for & paid for the lap dance in the first place!!!! It is my opinion that HE put his own eye in harms way!!!

My first husband lived for his lap dances. My last wouldn't step foot in one of those places. My last hubby loved me dearly & the first only loved himself!!!!

I guess those kind of heels should come with a warning label on the box then huh? I'm surprised he settled for so little, I would of gone for a few million..... especially if his double vision cannot be corrected. Could he still work with that injury?

Hi Snuggle! Good to hear from you! I hadn't posted or come on for some time, and just found this an interesting article (even if not having to do with animals!). ;o) It says they settled with that amount so wouldn't have to go further. But glad I am not interested in having lap dancers myself!!!

Another reason I don't wear spike heels. Not only might I injure myself, but somebody else too! That is pretty bizarre though.

Yay, and good that there are others like me out there. ;o) No spikes (or even high heels) for me.

I do feel bad for this guy because his injury sounds quite horrible and must have been excruciating! Having said that I cannot say I would be happy if my husband utilised the services of a lap dancer but that has nothing to do with this guy’s case. I guess he deserves compensation and I am surprised it was only $650,000. What a freak accident!

Hey Paula with the cute cat graphic I always like seeing. :o) I guess the amount seemed like a nic ebig number to me, but I suppose it's because I can't even imagine how much that could be, never owning anything near that much. But I wonder how much is coming out of the dancer's pocket and how much from the club.

Well, the only plus sign for him I suppose (ugh, as said by a female) is that at least he was probably all happy and indulging himself at the time of the injury, instead of stressed (untill after it happened). But for the money part. Where does all this money come from? ;o)

At this point, NONE from the dancer nor the club as it is the club's insurance company that is willing to settle. The club is still denying any responsibility!!! The insurance company is smart enough to see an even larger amount being awarded to him if it goes to court. He still has the option to sue the club & the dancer, but I feel he's gotten all he's going to get from the dancer!!!
