What Are Two Things You Have To Cook With Every Time?

How funny--onions and garlic are the two things I NEVER cook with--I am allergic to both (especially anything in the onion family). I am partial to basil and oregano, myself, and put some in almost anything that would be enhanced by the flavor. For the sweeter stuff, I find myself adding cinnamon to nearly everything--it helps cut down on that too-sweet taste of many recipes.

My mother hates garlic so I can only use a tiny bit when she is here. Basil and oregano are two I do not use much. Though I do love the aroma they give off.

You should try adding them to some recipes--both complement onions and garlic very well

I´ll leave salt, oil and those ingredients out. But I, like you, never consider a dish without onions in some way. And I had a fit last week because I misplaced my garlic grinder and had to go to my mother´s to beg for hers (which I had given to her as a gift sometime ago).
Hurray for onions: diced, sauteed, raw in a salad, cooked, baked. And what would a casserole or rice be without a crushed clove of garlic?
Take care!

I always have to make tortillas always!! Because my husband has to have them with everything..... I don't cook the jalapenos but he has to have those with every meal too.

That must be like people who have to have bread with every meal. My husband's family ate bread with every single meal. It was quite an adjustment for him when we met, because I don't do that.

Hi,
I should say 'onion and garlic' are a must for my
every cooking. Without them, my cooking won't taste nice and
it does not have fragrant smell on it.
I do cooking everyday and both items are always standby
in my kitchen.
I do stock up alot in the kitchen and sometimes when I am
free, I will chopped them into tiny pieces and store them inside
the air tight container, anytime I need them, just take
out from the fridge.

Certain oils like extra virgin olive oil are actually kind of healthy for you. Have you ever tried salt free food? It is really gross.

I like onion and garlic too, I also like green pepper and fresh mushrooms, yummy stuff. Cheese is a staple to for lots of stuff. Onion is probably the most used a my house. I don't understand why some people don't like onion, without onions the food doesn't have flavor...Gotta have onions.

I think raw onions in dishes, which I also use a lot of, can be quite strong. But I don't think people realize when you cook an onion it gets all sweet and delicious.

We usually use them too. Food wouldn't taste better without them.
Onions and garlic are very popular ingredients in cooking, but they also have healing powers.
Onions and garlic are effective decongestant, expectorant for cough and colds, relieves sore throats and sinusitis. They help lower blood pressure. When used externally they can be used for insect bites, burns and boils.

My mother loves pepper too. I don't think pepper is all that great, but I do use it a little.
