Hello sweetie. I honestly have no idea when this country got independent. If they do celebrate it, good for them. I tend to ignore these little things. It has no importance to me at all. But do enjoy your celebrations. TATA.

U ignore these little things? Oh no !!!! Our currency is called as Rupee and it's INR . We have the Picture of our Father of the Country Mr.Mahatma Gandhi in every Indian Currency !! There were many lives involved in getting the freedom. We were ruled by some European Country which has got no relation with the Pacific. Our Leaders took all responsibilities to fight them back and returned our country to the Citizens of Republic India !! It has more importance to me and not only to me and to everyone who live in this country !!

guna, when you get at my age, these things are more than a hindrance than anything else. A country is what you are staying in, not the other way around. Glad to hear you feel like that about your country, though.

well. thats true that we only care that much about our country on that day and then we forgot all things on next day.. But I guess still Indian people(not all) are emotionally attached with our country pride.. We can't force all people to change but at least we can follow all that disciplined and honesty so others can think about it too..
