Seems countries are competing for skyscrapers Just have a look at these details Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia which was the tallest during 1998 to 2004 .This building was surpassed by Taipei 101 in Taiwan but its credibility lasted only till 2010 ,once again Taipei 101 is surpassed by burj Khalifa ,dubai . Now let’s see some of the few future projects Freedom Tower at the site of WTC is expected to reach the height 1,776 ft and Shanghai Tower will reach the height of 2,073 ft and expected to be completed in 2014 and most important Abraj Al-Bait Towers also known as Mecca Royal Clock Hotel Tower is expected to get completed completed in 2011 with height of 1,972 ft. Wow, seems a tough competition for tall buildings is going on among the countries

Very impressive, indeed. And, they are coming up at a very impressive rate. I went up the Petronas Twin Towers once when it was the tallest in the world. Very beautiful tower, and a stunning view of the city Kuala Lumpur. I certainly would like to have the chance to visit the other towers too.

Well it would be good for engineering advancements because for a new height reached, there are gonna be problems that will needs to be solved. I just hope that you don't need to spend 10 minutes just by riding a elevator.
