Hello lotters,
Let me share you some of my house hold experience. most of the maids were recommended by my Auntie (fathers side) were just picked from some where. therefore, they're productivity is questionable. some are lazy, leaving the house with out permission, experienced but a bit hateful, and lastly, Steal, and thinks that she should be closed to the family.none of them were good.
We rarely had a few maids that are truly hard working. unfortunately, those maids who living in the decent house are being abused, no salary for months and rarely eats.
Congress revive this bill to have their boss compulsary pay for their fees with social security so that they can save until the point of their retirement.thus, prevent abuse from their boss.
Maids are all around, taking care of the kids, cleaning the house, dishes and gardening. they shouldn't be treated like slaves or animals in a leash. they also deserved respect. they have the right to benefits and fixed salary.
Not to mention, they are also part of the FAMILY.
Have a great day..

when I was young I was very close to our helpers. My parents were very busy so we always needed someone to keep the house in order. I can say that all the helpers we had felt that they were part of our family because even though they dont work for us anymore they still visit once in a while. Except for those who stole from us and made malicious stories about my family.
We've had awful experiences with our helpers but we also had a lot of good ones who are grateful for the help my parents gave them. Some of them are now professionals because my mom sent them to college and some of them are successful business women with their own family.
It's good that the govt is now looking after house helpers. A lot of them really need help.

Hello ddaguno,
well, not all are good i think. and it's nice to know from you that some of you're helpers had become entrepreneurs. I have heard similar story coming from the media, but this is because they have been good and loyal to their boss that they helped their own maids to be successful in life

these people can not live without their kasambahays, it is funny how they treat people who are lower than them. my mother who is paralyze (as you know it) has kasambahay too and we love them dearly. for we know without them we will sure have a hard time for we also have our own families already. since my mother is the one sick she is sometimes hot tempered and shouts at the maid. we always explain to her that it is not easy to always find a replacement. all this years she has already 5 or 6 times change of maids in 4 years. some of them left because it was hard to work with my mother.

Hello Seven,
Well, Old people in our society tends to be have less patience due to their condition. you're mom, probably she can't help being like if she's sick.wow five to six times? if you change one now, it's going to be hard to find a new one. just be aware of that killer maid that escaped a few months ago

It is quite difficult to find honest maids these days. When my kids were small I had more than 20 maids who come and go. They have all the common traits that you described here but can't blame them cos of their backgrounds. I had one foreign maid which run my telephone bills to the thousand and with that kind of attitude I have no choice but to terminate her service. It is really stressful having helpers at home as they bring in their most impossible characters. I am more at ease now without their services. The present maid salary here is quite high and with all the government requirements of high immigration levy I just can't afford one. But my mother has a long service maid who has been with her for more than 10 years and her pay is more than the pay received by the ordinary clerks. Besides the extras like yearly bonus and free travel overseas whenever mom goes on vacation.

Hello zandi,
It's not a joke having a maid in the house, some can change and do things we don't like. the last maid of my brother thought she was okay, but in the end she threatened to make gossips and destroy our relationships between families. she got fired, that was before they moved to province near our place

It is right to give them respect and earned good salary for them because they are doing their job as they are the only one who knows what to do the lists. From taking care of the baby, cleaning the house, washing the clothes ironing and even cooking are their duties and responsibilities as a helper. Imagine they'll do all that with sometimes the bosses are cruel. I really feel that sad if one of the maids has doing all the task inside the house and no one's gave respect. Let us think that they are human also. Thanks and have a nice day!

Hello Mods,
Some maids rarely have a good sleep and then not giving salary a month. if only surveillance cameras were more advanced.but we can't be just on the side of the maids alone, some are also abusive, fake, and pretenders because some are members of syndicate. that if the employers fought back they get killed

Hello nobody4me,
well, the economy is bad and a lot of people are loosing jobs from here end. some are just lucky to be working on rich families, but most of them tend to look down on people or just plain abusive.

That should be done. because if the maid violates then she gets arrested for good. but if it's the other way around, it takes the person to escap jsut to file a case. they are family, most specially when the parents are not around on their work hours

Hello rebelotter,
well, not all maids who abuse are captured. the story i mentioned in one killer maid escaped, and still probably on the run. probably we shouldn't entertain strangers unless they are from the agency, we can't maids that are from other places endorse by friends or families, most specially from strangers

We're very lucky that our yaya is still with us because we would not replace her from anyone else. Fortunately too, we are also lucky to find good househelps through our yaya.
As for the bill, I am PRO for it. Househelps should not be maltreated because they are a big help when it comes to organizing our homes and they're also investing emotions. They are also people that needs to our respect and care.

Hello knight,
that's because you didn't get them from the agency. otherwise, they wouldn't do such thing to you, at least you didn't get rob of the jewelry.but i do believed that those from the agency deserved to be treated fairly. i have watch that news and it's unbelievable that she was severely punished just because of that darn bun that she ate with out permission.

Hello Mikaela,
Yes, the last maid didn't robbed jewelries but she was enjoying herself robbing some other not so important stuff. i think there should be more training for the maids. that woman is a person an deserved to eat that bun most specially if it's a left over. what's wrong with it anyways. they can't just do that, they're just people. what if people stop working or applying as a maid.

hello jean,
that is very true, during those times, the economy isn't really that bad. the slow system of the government has caused more harm to the people. the they do action when only disaster strikes and not because the people in the organizations recommend it

dear lk,
is that you on the picture? it is very nice. (you were wearing a black suit). but why u changed again to some horse drawing (yes with the knight riding).
we had a housemaid who stayed for a long time. she was with us while we were growing up and then she got married and had 2 kids and yet she never left. my mom pays for her social security and that is outside her salary, no deductions being made. she left when she was about 62 because she said she is old and having plenty of feelings in her body which she says are signs of aging.
i hope the new bill is respected by other employers. i find it good to give benefits to housemaids.
ann

Hello tigerAunt,
I wanted to make a GIF of these personal pic of mine, but i don't know. and worse, it didn't look good on the Profile. so, i decided to add the knight with horse, but the GIF sucks, so i changed it again. I know it's handsome but i guess i needed better presentation of myself. it doesn't have to be the real me.

hm... Perhaps i should read about this. What about maids that you hired from an agency? Who pays for their social security?
You are right in there. It is hard to find a good maid. The ones we got from the agency didnt last for more than a week with my sister. Whats worse, whenever you ask for replacement, the agency will charge you additional Php2000.
I dont mind giving social security benefits for the maids who are really honest and hardworking. How many years of employment qualifies them for these benefits?

Hello Grace,
NO, they were not from the agency. those who were just picked up by my aunty somewhere from our province. so, that really pisses me off, i hated it. probably those aren't still mentally ready for the job. I was thinking of getting a maid from the agency but you're story seems to have make me think twice

It's not just they are part of the family. but they are also human as well, most specially those who have kids. aren't these bosses realize that it's sad for them when they take care of their boss child and not even bother spending time with their own children simply because they had to work.

Hello greedy,
I agree that they are mostly with the kids and spends more time with them. i remember a story in MMK whereas the Maid was also a baby sitter and almost a mother. that's because she knew better about their boss sons needs and wants. she cares for her a lot that she cried when he's about to be transferred to her grandma in other country. she treated her like a son. some maids are like parently connected to their boss kids

hello Letranknight...
i am all for this bill since housemaids are decent people who earn their living working for families who sometimes treat them like slaves. we have numerous maids in the family who have stayed with us for a long time while we were growing up. they left either because they got married or moved to another place with their families.
although there are some who are lazy, hateful, sleeps with the bosses, lol, and steals from the family, many are still decent people working their butts off to earn a living for their family. many of these housemaids have little children left behind just so they could provide for them.

Hello deriellevc,
there are some bad sides with these maids, most specially if they are not "specially trained". I actually don't recommend on having one right now. well, as for those who sleeps with the bosses, it's the choice of the maid. probably they wanted it because it allows them to earn more money specially if they rich

hi letran our cultures vary here as most Americans cannot afford maids so we women are our own maids so to speak. I have no experience with having maids but plenty with hearing how good and bad the maids to the wealthy are treated here in the US. I am glad your congress is passing bill to help them with social security.I think a lot of times maids are as good or as bad as the way they are treated. After all they are human beings and deserve to not be treated like slaves. the employers may o wn their services but they do not own the women at all. They should not have to work 24/7 as thats just monstrous.I sort of feel that people should do their own housework and garden if they are fit and able, I c annot fathom haveing a servant to wait on me, here in this retirement center it feels so odd to be treated like I am the master the care takers the servants, my bed is made for me my room cleaned for me, my clothes are washed for me so I have lots of time to mylot which is good I guess.

Since we're a country better known as country of servants, it seems funny that some employers don't treat their servants with respect. Normally, we raise hell when ever we hear news of abused servants in other countries are on the headlines but turn a blind eye of news about servants abused by their own countrymen. It's about time we treat being a household help not just something as a last resort for people who want to earn a small amount of money for a back breaking job but a profession in itself. It may not be the best choice for a profession but if we treat it that way, these people will have all the benefit that a regular employee gets. There should be an government agency that should look after these workers not only as far as benefits are concerned but their working conditions as well.
