Who is your favorite film director, and why? Do you pay attention to directors?

A director is very important in the movie making process and may determine how good a movie is, yet people rely on actor names to pre-judge how good a movie will be. Who pays attention to the name of the director? Who are some of your favourite directors? I have to say that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez come to mind when thinking of good directors... add to the list!!!

I think there are tons of good ones out there. I actually like Roman Polanski a lot, and also Quentin Tarantino, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola. So it is hard for me to choose only one!
I do pay some attention to who the director is, yeah.

Imo, both the actors and directors are a factor in determining on how good a movie is. I don't pay much attention to the directors although i like the works of michael bay, tim burton, steven speilberg, and john woo.
