How does MyLot Earn Money?

I am a newbie to this site. I know we earn money by participating on activities on the site. My question is how does it earn money? As in other businesses, it needs to be able to earn money to be viable for the long run. If it continues to payout without earning, then it will not be able to sustain itself and will close down sooner or later.
