There are a lot of good songs in the karaoke, but quite a number of them are kinda difficult to sing. Singing in the karaoke is quite a challenge because you have to pay attention to your tune, your timing, your rhythm, your delivery, your emotions, your lyrics, etc... Are there specific songs that you find challenging to sing? I've written an article about it -- My Top 5 Killer Karaoke songs. I know what you mean grubder. I have a good singing voice but when I sing karaoke, I sound terrible. That is why I don't sing karaoke. Perhaps it's the filtering that happens when your voice pass through a microphone? I don't know. But when I sing karaoke, I never sound like myself.

I think some minor adjustment on the echo or reverb can do the trick :-)

I find any song difficult... especially when I'm not drunk enough yet. LOL! just kidding. :p I'm not much of a singer so I really have a hard time finding the guts to grab the mic and belt out. :p But if I don't have a choice, I usually choose Beatles songs.... they're fun to sing and since almost everyone knows the songs, sooner or later everyone starts singing along with you... so it becomes less embarrassing. :p

The list in your article is a great list. I love Truly, Madly, Deeply. It's a very nice song to listen to but to sing it would require you to be able to hold your breath while singing the lyrics.
And Bohemian Rhapsody isn't a suitable song to be sung in a karaoke lounge. It's a song to listen to and just enjoy as it is. To sing it is to murder the song as well as the listeners!

I love karaoke! I enjoy doing Call Me When You're Sober by Evanescence, Only One by Melissa Ethridge, Dark Horse by Amanda Marshall, and No One Else On Earth, by Winnona Judd. I also like to do some Dixie Chicks, or anything in the song book that catches my eye!
