Do spring onions really boost our intelligence and thinking power?

Hmm...I was wondering about this. Everytime when I come across spring onions on my food, I'll put it aside. Either I drink it along with soup or just put it aside because I don't like the smell of it. But my mother keeps telling me that it boosts the brain power and I'll become smart, because in chinese belief, it was believed that eating the spring onion or praying to the gods with this and eating it will make one smarter. I wasn't convinced and up till now, I still dislike it. Anybody here knows what kind of benefits this vege has?

hi springonions are indeed high in minerals and vitamins so are good
for general health but as for intelligence and thinking power it doeas'
not say. it does say that they boost your immune system but so do a lot of other veggies. If I were you I would just opt for the veggies that you do like the taste of. lifes too shore to be forced to eat something you
do not like. a lot of veggies will boost your health thus your brain power too probably. some people however just do not like spring oninons or onions of any sort.Onions are indeed good f or your general heatlh but so are a lot of other vegetables.

Maybe you're right but I've been seeing so many spring onions in my whole life. I've eaten them although I dislike the taste but then, I see no health benefits. Heck, my brain is not even boosted! LOL!

It is hard to say what a spring onion may or may not do for you. it is very possible that it can elevate our brain power in some way.

Well, to me, besides this, I also dislike parsley. Now I relate all these to just superstition. Unless I personally see an expert's report on it, then I will believe.

I know of no evidence to say that spring onions boost intelligence. They are though rich in vitamin C and do have certain medicinal properties ; they help to lower blood sugar, decrease high cholesterol and blood pressure levels, reduce the risk of developing colon and other cancers and reduce inflammation in the same way that all onions do.
I love any onion though, and think that spring onion adds not only flavour but colour to a dish.
