what cake do you prefer on birthday parties? fondant or ordinary cake?

i just want to know your opinion on what cakes do you prefer having on parties.fondant are really nice because of the details if you have a particular design you like.i admire cakes made of fondant but it's too sweet.i like ordinary cakes also because you can eat everything. what i mean is there is no waste as with fondant, sometimes we would rather leave the fondant and just eat the cake because of it's sweetness.what do you think?your opinion please. thanks and good day.
