I know many of us love shopping specialy girls. But do you try your clothes before buying them? Yea it's really important to try our clothes to check will they fit to us or not and to see that the clothes are not defective. But some people don't like to try their clothes like me i just see my size and check for any cut or defect and if therd isn't any defect i will buy them.
But do you try your clothes before buying them?

I usually try clothes on in shops before I make decisions, and it is not only to check if the size fits, I have to make sure the clothes doesn't look ridiculous on me. Many clothes have nice designs and patterns when you see them on display, but they look weird on human body. In order to avoid taking clothes back to shops, I would try them on before buying them.
But for some general clothing, like vests and cardigans with simple colour and design, I tend to take them directly to the check-out, since it is easy to tell if they fit me or not.

his0yir you are so right! Sometimes just because clothes look good on the hanger doesnt mean they look good when we put them on. Sometimes also what looks good on the display just doesnt go good with my color or body shape. I love shopping but sometimes its just frusterating. I cant really wear cardigans they never fit me right.

@His0yir : yea these are the two big reasons for which we should try our clothes before buying them. The lady who answered you before me was also talking about that the clothes which look good to our eyes won't look good on our body and i think she is right.
Thanks for your response.

No I don't always try them on before I buy them. I usually know what my size is in most brands and sometimes I buy a size bigger when I know the material is likely to shrink. Plus when I do go shopping, I really don't plan on bringing in my lil ones with me to try on things. The only time I try things on is like a swim suit where I know most places won't return them due to hygene issues.

3SnuggleBunnies I know exactly what you mean. It is so hard to try on clothes with your little ones with you. Unfortunately I have a really hard time getting clothes to fit me. Some stores I know what sizes will fit perfectly but other stores I really have to try the clothes on to know if they will fit and since most the time I just buy them because with the kids its to hard to try them on I often have to return the clothes.

Well, i think you really have a good knowledge about clothes and brands and thats why you don't need to try them at the shop but i think you need to check if the clothes will suit me or not. And i also don't try clothes before buying them.
Thanks for your response.

Well, even though I am a guy, I reckon I have to try clothes on before buying them because I tend to be a bit of an awkward size. I have long legs and arms and that makes it difficult at time. If clothes fit on my waist then the arms and legs tend to be too short, and if the arms and legs are long, then the waist tends to be too big. It has always been a problem with me and I have often to get clothes made to measure.. _Derek

Well, i think you must be having a unique size of body, i can just imagine what problems you would have been facing about your clothes, you need to get a tailor to make clothes so that they could fit you and that must be expensive.
Well, thanks for your response.

I don't really like to try clothes before buying them because I think I will be very embarrass when I can't fit it them. That is what that makes me seldom buy new clothes. But when I am really in the mood to do shopping for new clothes, I will try every cloth that caught my eye sight.

Well, you should not feel shy of trying clothes as you will be paying for them. It's just a matter of few minutes, even everyone would be there to try their clothes. By the way i also don't try clothes before buying them, not because i am shy, but because i don't feel like trying them.
Thanks for your response.

Definitely I need to try on the clothes that I want to but for just looking at the size won't work for me. I don't have a perfect body shape, for example sometimes a small shirt will fit my body but not in my arms or shoulder area so I need to be careful to ensure I won't just waste my money.

Ok, a similar thing happens to me in case of my jeans. If a pants fits me from my waist then many times it does not fit to my thies so i always preffer to buy a little larger size than the original, but i have never tries clothes at shop.
Thanks for your response.

Hi harry89,
I know I don't try clothes on before buying them simply because I usually go clothes shopping after work. What I mean is I would rather take the clothes home and have a bath or shower then try on the clothes. If they don't fit I simply go back the next day and change them for a different size.
Plus I once had a bad experience in a clothing changing room when one of the assistance swept back the curtain and asked if I needed any help.A good thing I had already got the article of clothing on before she did it.So I vowed ever since then to buy,try and either keep or return the next day.

Well, that must have been a bad experience. I also don't try clothes before buying them but there is no reason for that i just don't feel like to . And we can return the clothes back if they doesn't fit them but some shops don't do this.
Thanks for your response.

I don't usually try on clothes. I know what size I wear and my daughter and granddaughter and I have cetain likes and dislikes that if I buy something and decide it doesn't fit me right or I don't like it I Let them try it and if they like they keep it. If not, I take it back and try again. This doesn't happen very often.

Hi Harry,
I just realized that its been a real long time that I went for shopping clothes. Actually since my illness, I rarely move out of house and my loving and caring wife does almost all the shopping for me.
But yes, when I used to be healthy, and venture out to buy clothes, I rarely tried on anything before making a purchase. Reason is that I know my sizes - I prefer the XXL sizes for shirts and Tees and as these are standards, I never thought of trying out them.
For trousers, I did try on a few occasions but the problem is that I am tall and thin - a difficult combo to get ready made trousers. So I prefer having them stitched locally. I try out them before settling in and paying out to the tailor.
Cheers,
theSids

Hi Harry,
True that I could try the trousers folded twice but at end that makes me feel odd and not comfortable. So initially I tried getting the extra part cut off from the tailors but I do not know whether they did it right or wrong, I realized that after this the trouser seemed non-fitting to me... I mean the length was ok and so was the waist but the shape of that trouser got changed... Not sure how I explain this but it did look odd to me.
Good to know that we have a similarity here.
Cheers,
theSids.

Ok, then you are same as me i also don't try clothes when go to shoping. And i m also thin but not tall as i am 5'6. So I also find it hard to find clothes that fits to my body, but i wear them by just wearing belt and folding twice the pants from bottom. But i never tried my clothes as shop.
Thanks for your response.

Ok and yea you need to know how the clothes feel on your skin , also in my case some clothes just feels like they are biting me. And we also need to check how the clothes are looking on our body. So trying clothes before buying them is important.
Thanks for your response.

Ok, if you are too busy then it's not your fault that you don't try the clothes before buying them, you can just by them directly , take them home and have a try at them and if they don't fit you you can return them to the shop later.
Thanks for your response.

Exactly, however some of the clothes are that cheap to buy the only problem is that the leg part is too long, so i ask a relative to alter these for me. I like to get bargain clothes.

Of course i,m always try my clothes before i,m going to buy them. Its a difficult to understand whether clothe stand right to me,and mainly how i look in that clothe.Usually i,m so particular to all my clothes especially for my shoes.I think that the most important is to like yourself in clothes, otherwise no meaning.

Yea, you are right if the clothes does not fit you, there is no meaning of paying for them. I think in case of shoes you have to be accurate about your size as if it is large, it won't fit you and if it is small, then it wil be loose for you.
Thanks for your response.

I mean not only for size of shoes.I mean that they must be in suitable still with the rest of your clothes.Sometimes you really like kind of shoes but they are in contrast.

Unfortunately I do not try clothes before buying most of the time and I have ended up getting clothes of wrong fitting or some defects at times. Its really very frustrating when this things happen and you have to go back to the shop to exchange them. The reason I do not try clothes many times is that there are no trying rooms available at the shops I purchase. I make it a point to try clothes first where ever I see a changing room in the shop. This makes my purchase worth always. I have learnt this hard lesson after doing many round-ups to change clothes when they do not fit, that its always better to purchase from a store where they have changing rooms and where you can check your clothes and fitting in advance so it does not create further issues :P. After all experiences make you wiser and clever :P.

Well you can't do anything at all if you don't even have trial rooms at the shop. The only thing that you can do is try the clothes at home and if they fits you then it's ok and if they does not then just go back to the shop and return them.
Thanks for your response.

i always try clothes before buying them. you can see the fit of the cloth and find out whether the cloth suits your body and face or not. and usually there is a difference in sizes of various brands and styles, so i check the fit always and before purchasing i can see which size fits me the best.
i think it is must to check before purchasing as it increases our satisfaction of shopping...
have fun.

I dont to often have time to try things on before I buy them. I like to so I know if they fit before buying them but with two active kids with me its not easy to try clothes on so usually I have to wait until I get them home to try them on. Then more often then not I have to return them because they dont fit. I hate that. Its such a waste of time and effort.

The only way I can try on clothes is if my daughter will sit on the bench in the dressing room with me and my son has to sit in the shopping cart. If not he would run out of the dressing room when I was undressed lol. Nightmare! Once I took him in the dressing room in a stroller and I gave him cheerios on the stroller tray. He threw them alllll over the floor. I was so embarrassed.

Well i can imagine why you are not able to try thet clothes out when you are with your kids. And yes thats a waste of our time and efforts and a real headache when we have to return the clothes back. That really becomes irritating.
Thanks for your response.

Ok, but has it ever happened to you that you chose something and later it did not fit you? I think that's not a good idea. we should try clothes before buying them. Don't be in such hurry that later you get to regret for that. Be sure first.

If i get them from a normal store, yes. But lately i get some of them from the internet so, no. Iknow it's important but if they don't fit i just sell them on back on the internet. I made some money like that. If i buy something really expensive i try them on for sure!

Personally, I try all sorts of clothes before I buy them. But usually I don't buy them anyway even after I try them on, since I hate spending X)
I just like to feel special just for a short moment. Reason I don't buy too many clothes because I already have too many and they just get spoiled after a while, I'll be happy getting rich and still wearing poor man clothes. mwahaha

hello harry. Yes I do try clothes before I buy them. Before I dont try, I used to buy it directly. Since I bought a shirt that was too fit for me, that was when I told to my self that I should try it first before buying. Since what happen till now I will try it first before buying. Some brands of shirt are different in sizes, I mean the large of one brand is much larger than the other brand. I observed it since then. So try it first before buying. Thanks...
