A common stereotype says that teacher is always smarter than student.
I don't think so. Smartness doesn't heads its face to particular person or profession.
smartness is just a matter of time. I mean, I don't believe that in the world there is a smart person nor stupid person, what I believe is a person who know something EARLIER than others, and we got it as 'smart'. Do you have the same idea? share it with me, guys. Thank you...

"Those who can, do. Those who cannot, teach."
On a serious note: Ideally, the the teacher should have greater knowledge on the subject at hand than the student or the student has little to gain from the relationship. A literary scholar doesn't need to study the alphabet. They have already grasped it and only look to learn more about subjects to which they are unfamiliar. To say that the student is not as "smart" as the teacher could be proven wrong, but a teacher must know more about the subject matter that they are attempting to teach than the pupil that wishes to learn about it.

Its not about smartness ,the main thing is experience. It might be that the teacher may be poor in general knowledge but have much more experience of life than the student. But in some cases the teacher might not have experienced in his/her childhood the things which the student is experiencing now.
