My experience is that it is not so much difficult as it is time consuming. There are sites out there that will pay you, but you have to be prepared to wait some time before seeing encouraging results. Stock photo sites and a few other content ones for writing are good for earning what is called 'passive' income. You put your content on and it continues to earn (slowly) for as long as it's on the net. Payout can take some time, however.
