What's the chance of the NEW CONGRESS helping out the birthers?

I'm not going to try and predict which party will win the majority in November. This discussion isn't about that. Whichever party wins what do you think the chances are of them "investigating" President Obama? I find it hard to believe that this will even be considered by any congress.

microscopic. if they want the Konspiracy votes the candidates might suggest this is a possibility but of course they aren't going to waste time on something that pointless later on.

The blue bunny speaks! But, does he really eat carrots? Well won't that just be a HUGE disappointment for some?

I don't think anyone who has any desire to be re-elected is going to waste time on this nonsense. And it is just that, nonsense, distractive nonsense.

Very interesting statement made by the Kenyan Minister for lands.Looks like there are also birthers in Kenya. Kenyan Minister for Lands If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multi-party state or nation, how could a young man born here in Kenya who... is not even a native American, become the President of America? It is because they did away... with exclusion. http://www.therightperspective.org/2010/04/12/kenyan-lawmaker-obama-born-in-kenya/#more-9381

I agree, xfahctor, it is nonsense. I always find it odd that the he said/she said claims coming out of Kenya carry so much weight when it comes to people with an agenda. One would think that they could have come up with at least one document by now if Obama had been born there.

It is nonsense and I wonder what it will take to finally put it to rest.

If the GOP gets the majority in the House, they MIGHT make good on the promises made by nutcase Michele Bachmann, among others, to "not legislate, investigate". I sincerely believe there are some who are determined to try to impeach President Obama, they're just not sure what, if any, grounds they have. I hope you're right and common sense prevails! Annie

Of all the problems this country has right now I sure hope they don't waste time and energy on nonsense. On the other hand, my sisters neighbor has a friend whose cousins neighbor knows someone that works in Kenya and he has seen proof that Obama was born in Kenya. So now you have it right from the horses mouth!

Oh goody, another demonstration in D.C. Had to throw ObamaCare in there in order to get more than a handful of people to show up?

It will not be as they will gain the information once becoming memebers of congress that most of us normal people aren't allowed to know for national security reasons I am sure.

I agree with you but even for those whacked ones I wonder on what grounds they could even approach the subject. Rumor is probably not going to be enough justification.

No, rumor is not "evidence"...and it's necessary to present evidence.

You should look up the steps in the impeachment process online and then you will have a better idea of what it entails. Someone with more than just he said/she said claims would have to bring the matter to the floor of the House where it would be voted on. The Senate investigates but the matter will not go to the Senate unless enough members of the House vote to impeach. As much as some would like to believe that Obama is not eligible to hold office, the hard fact that not one member of the House has brought this issue to the floor says a lot. The general public is not privy to everything and I refuse to believe that each and every Republican member of the House is a coward, fearful or being blackmailed in order to keep them silent. As hostile as this Congress has been, if there was anything, some *hero* would have rushed to the floor with it, demanding impeachment.

Spalladino, I've looked at the impeachment process and I remember all too well the Clinton fiasco. I have read several times how Pres. Obama will be forced to release his personal records once the new congress gets elected in November. I agree that Pres. Obama does not have a stronghold on every member of the house but, that is what some would like us to believe. Since the courts refuse to consider the "proof" I am wondering what earth shattering revelation is going to come about to cause the Senate to investigate. :)

The Senate does have the power to force the president to release information previoiusly denied to the wacknut lawyers during an impeachment hearing but you have to remember that the House has to determine that there are grounds based on a majority vote. What grounds would be brought to the floor other than the same accusations we've heard...and the House has ignored...a million times already?
