A right to express my own opinion

For me, mylot is not a site where everybody outraces or outsmarts or outwits each other and says hey im smarter than you.
I notice people here reacts in bad way when they disagree with how a mylotter responds to a discussion just saying whats on his/her mind.And this ignites hostility.I myself gets offended when someone tells me straight to my face that i am wrong with what i just expressed. When he or she can just message me at my inbox and tell me about it.When u say it publicly , in the form of a posted comment here, you are surely looking for trouble.
C'mon be nice to everybody and earn friends more than points.
Cause in every opinion posted, there is a unique reason behind it that has something to do with the person's experience or character.Something which you think is wrong for you might be right for somebody else given a kind of situation that he or she has.
Even if that person is responding way too far from the subject you are touching, it is still not proper to voice out your discontment in public forums.Hello that's why we have the Inbox isn't it??
Netiquette...applies still to mylot.

Yes, I agree with u. Everybody here is entitled to our own opinions and so we are here to share about experiences. There will always be a minority of people who disagrees but how does it matter? It does not only happen in mylot but in real life too. If everybody is agreeing upon the same things, sharing same views, won't that post be so boring then? Everybody has their right to share and so do the respondents. It's opened to everybody so what gives the others the right to be hostile or fierce when one doesn't agree with majority.

hi lipsick I have not seen a lot of that but any is too much as you say we all have a right to our opinion, and a right to have that respected
too.I feel that its great when we feel sure enough of our friends that we can be ourselves and say what is on our mind.I want to say that to me none of our opinions are wrong even if I might have a different one entirely. as that is just my opinion.so many times I have been amazed that I had felt a certain way about something and a new friend comes along
and offers a new insight. I look it and think why did I not see that, she is right. so we can also learn from each other too.Yes we need peace here so its a happy place for old comers and newcomers to meet and make friends and have some fun.We are never too old or too young to learn from one another.

I know there are a few who are really rude here. They don't know how to disagree to an idea with courtesy, but don't worry it's just a few of them. I hope this will not discourage you from expressing your ideas here in mylot.

True lipstick. One can simply say we differ in opinion or that they disagree with an opinion and state why instead of saying you are wrong. Saying you are wrong would halt any discussion and that, I think, is what mylot is all about....a discussion forum.
I have received a response or responses which differed with what I said but it was said in a nice and informative way. I appreciate these kind of responses. But rude responses are few.
