Stand strong in your beliefs? I have heard it over and over through years. Have you heard this saying also? I see it hear from time to time here on MyLot as well. Everytime I hear those words or see them written I wonder to myself,'What if my Beliefs are Wrong? Then What?" When you hear those words,'stand up for your beliefs', what do you think?

Most of the time, people think their beliefs are the right ones and all the others are wrong. When they do find out that their beliefs are wrong, well, it just tears them apart.

Yes I suppose finding out your beliefs are a lie can be earth shattering. I never thought of it that way. Has that happened to you?

Yes I hear them all the time. Not here yet but everywhere else. I have struggled to believe in what my beleifs have become. For years I thought I was wrong! Talk about a confidence let down! I finally stop listening to people's opinions and started my figuring out my owm opinions. My beliefs are mine own. If you don't like them well I don't care! That is how I feel on that! So many people out there want to drag you down! I have to me and that is enough said!

Beliefs vary from person to person so we will always encounter someone who will contradict to what we believe in. I am the kind of person who is open minded to other people's belief and won't do drastic things to persuade them to change their belief because I don't want that to happen to me too. In my case, I chose what I believe and I won't just let anyone to dictate me, it's my choice what is true and what is not. And besides, I think varying beliefs makes this life much more interesting.

Yes belief systems do make life interesting and tough sometimes. If we humans could just respect other peoples beliefs it would be great. No matter what kind of belief we have I love to talk about them. Whether they are spiritual or just lifes lessons or whatever I love to discuss and share our insights but some people feel like they have to force their truths on others. This is not right. Talk about it and if someone accepts your views more then their own fine but if not that is fine too. Live and let Live I say!

Challenge your beliefs, if they are wrong, adopt new ones. Once you are convinced beyond doubt, then you can stand for your beliefs because you are convinced that your beliefs are true. The truth is very powerful. Jesus said 'you will know the truth and it will set you free.' The truth will set you free from doubts and fear.

I really like what you said about challenging our beliefs. I feel like there comes a time in everyones life where we challenge our beliefs to make sure our beliefs are our own and not ones we accepted just because we were taught that way. No matter if it is spiritual beliefs or otherwise.

Thank you for the BR award! When I'm challenged I like to do research and some deep thinking to see if what I'm doing is the right thing as I wouldn't want to be doing the wrong thing.

If you believe in something, like, believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, ask Him to forgive your sins in order for you to get to Heaven, then believe it with full conviction and with no doubt. If you believe it and you acted on it then there's nothing wrong with that. If one day you see that it was not true, what did you lose? Nothing, right? But what if it is true then you did not believe in it? You lose your life and the opportunity to get to heaven, right? Well, it's better to seek God for guidance, read His words, and if you see no good results from it, then choose. We can feel it in our hearts if what we believe in is true or not. I hope and pray that you find that what or who you believe in is worth believing. :)

I am not so sure when I started this discussion that I was asking only about spiritual beliefs but I like what you said.
