I love mushrooms, but I have to say I don't know of very many ways to prepare them. I usually throw them on the pan or bake them in the oven with some oil, garlic etc. But there must be some more fun and unusual ways to make mushrooms, no?
So tell me, what is your favorite way to prepare mushrooms? (No recipes please, since they are not allowed!!)

Actually, unless they changed the guidelines, recipes are allowed, you are just not allowed to start a post with them. Have you ever tried stuffed mushrooms? I recently heard about this myself and hope to make them soon. Plus, I like to fry them up with onion and peppers and then add it to either a hamburger or on top of a steak..

I guess you can stuff them with whatever you want, a meat or bread mixture just like when you stuff peppers. I haven't tried it yet, waiting for the big ones to go on sale..lol

I used sliced mushroom instead of hotdog in my spaghetti.

I agree it tastes very good in spaghetti even as a meat substitute just to make it more filling.

I just love mushrooms in any way, shape or form! Usually, I just fry them in butter to add to say, a T-bone steak, or with bacon and eggs.
However, if I am having people round to dinner I will make the effort to serve stuffed mushrooms as a starter and they go down really well! You need mushrooms with a good cap on them for this dish. I mix up cream cheese (Ricotta cheese is also good) with crushed garlic, chopped parsley and breadcrumbs. Brush with beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs then cover with foil and bake in the oven till tender, perhaps 10 minutes. Yummy!

I usually like mine sautee'd with eggs and cheese or in a stir fry. Otherwise I'd enjoy them just washed up and diced in a salad with thousand island dressing. I just wish they weren't so hard to find fresh ones on sale, as all the canned are imported

MMMMMM mushrooms. Nothing better with a great steak than mushrooms. Or have you ever tried them with asparagrus? wrap the mushrooms, onions, asparagrus, butter in aluminum foil and bake. Yum. I also put them in a pan with onion, butter, seasoning, add to the steak or chicken. Add them to your favoite casarole, omelette, the list is endless. Experiment, you will be surprised.
