Did you ever forget your password to an important site you visit daily? Like to a blog, email adress etc? How did you finally recover your password? Well I had a daily blog I had started 3 years ago. I tried and tried to figure out my password. Being that it was on blogger ..You have to have the email you first used to subscribe.. Since the email I first used is no longer my email I had to try and try. I tried a gazillion password combinations ( slight exageration) . .before finaly I got in. Have you ever had such an experience?

It is sometimes impossible to recovery the password. When that happens, I give up and hope to remember it later.

You say you give up hope and remember it later..how do you remember it later.. do you find something that sparks your memory?

Sometimes when you try to hard, it does not work. Occasionally, when you are doing something, you may suddenly remember. It is like when you are looking for something you need, you won't find it no matter how hard you look. However, as soon as you get a replacement, it just pops up. Worst case is just abandon the site or create a new account. No site is so invaluable that you cannot abandon it.

You have to have very posible detail about your email, security ques, passwords, etc to avoid losing it forever. :)

Today I tried to order some food from an on line store then I couldn't remember my password. Therefore I had to obtain an email reminder. It is typically the sites that I don't use all that often that I forget the passwords for. The banking passwords I change quite often because I tend to forget them. It is not the sort of information I want to record in a diary. On a story writing site I forgot my password and when they sent me a link it wouldn't work. I had to wait one week for support to get me my password. Sometime when trying lots of password combinations it blocks the account which can be bothersome.

That had happened to me a number of times. With so many online programs that I had joined, I get pretty confused. Some sites, even after trying and trying for a hundred times, I could not get the right combination. I just had to give up, and re-register. It's a lesson that I learn some times: "Don't ever forget your password" !!!!!!!!

I have only a variety of combinations that I could possibly use for a password..but then I have to remember the username..which changes more often then my password.

Like you too i always forgot my password so i retrieved again and again which really irritating to me. But it is not my memories fault it was my responsibility wise fault. Now when i had things to do online that requires passwords and so on I better write it down and then when I log in that note is always with me. Every where I go that notebook is with me. Better to forget my lipstick but not that one.

I think I might start doing that; that's a great idea to keep a notebook of it .

Yes, I have some of these experiences. Sometime I could remember for it by password question. Generally speaking, I will backup the important passwords in a document before to use them. So I needn't worry too much about it.

I never thought to make a backup. I always worry somehow the cd or where ever I put it would end up in the wrong hands;) Good idea though..

Having to be able to remember passwords like this can be a trying thing. I know many times I have had this issue, and usually end up giving up. I am sure there are many sites people sign up for, even here and have no idea how to access them again. It would be nice if more places would have password, etc retrieval for their sites so that many more could still access them.
