I have been away from my home for one month and just I got back. Yesterday we went went to pick up the cat and dog, and I am so happy to see them again, because I missed them a lot. Next week we also get our guinea pig and our rabbits back, and I really look forward to that. It has been a great month, I have seen many interesting and beautiful places, but I missed my pets and seeing them again was one of the best things about going back home. I have been in touch with my family and my friends while I have been away, but it will be nice to see them in person again. I also look forward to that. What do you miss the most when you are away from your home for a while? Why? What kind of things do you look forward to when you return to your home after a trip?

If you are married and have kids, it will always be your family that you'll miss the most. I went to Australia just for a 2 week trip and i can't stop crying when I was about to leave. I kept on hugging my baby and reminded my husband to take care of her. I called everyday just to know how they were doing. You'll actually miss the smell of your own house too. Your bed, your pillow..everything..as they say......nothing beats your home!!!

That is true. My husband and I were travelling together, but I know that I would have missed him a lot if I had been travelling alone for one month. In the past I have travelled on my own and I have lived abroad, but at that time I was single and independent, and my situation is different today. Of course we can call eachother and stay in touch, but I would still miss him a lot I was travelling on my own.

Hey there, I have been away from home since high school. It's almost 7 years now. I also stayed in US for 2 years, and I didn't have a chance to go back. That's a terrible feeling. The thing I miss most when I am away from home is my parents. Everything about my parents, the food they make, even the voice of them.

I understand what you mean. Now I live in the same country as my parents, but when I was younger and I lived and worked abroad, and I missed my family. I talked to them on the phone sometimes and we exchanged parcels and letters, but I still missed them.

When I go on a trip overseas I miss Secret and Magic my miniature poodles. When I get back home my dogs are so happy to see me again and I feel just the same. I miss going to a health food shop that sells the types of food that I eat. In Romania I found a shop that sold soy drink so I was delighted. When I was traveling in Portugal in Lisbon I found an excellent health food shop. I miss sleeping with my own comfortable pillow and my own sweet smelling duvet. I miss seeing my mom and my sister. My longest trip lasted just over one year and that was when I was 20 to 21 years old. I traveled around the world. When I return I look forward to seeing my dogs, my own bed and my types of food that I like to eat. I am glad that you had a fantastic time on your European trip.

Yes, it is so nice to see the pets again. Yesterday when we were going to pick them up I almost couldn't wait. Our dog was so happy to see us again and he jumped straight into the car. When we got home he ran to house and he seemed excited to be back home. The people who looked after him while we were away are very nice, but I missed him a lot.

15 years that is a long time to be away from your home. I have lived and worked abroad in the past, but I have never been away for that long. I understand that you miss your family and the food. When I was living abroad my mother sometimes sent me Danish food and that wasn't available in the country where I lived. I was always very excited when I received a parcel with news and things from my own country.

I like to visit friends and relatives who live far from me. it is always good to see them. I do miss sleeping in my own bed when I am away from me. i can;t always get comfortable sleeping in a strange bed.

I also like to visit friends who live far away. We can't meet that often because of the distanse, so we really enjoy it when we are finally together. It is so nice to talk again and just spend time together. When I was away from home I stayed at different hotels and I slept in different beds, some of them weren't that comfortable and it is a nice feeling to get back to my own bed and my own duvet.

for me, i seriously missed home-cooked food, nothing taste better than homecook food as this is the type of food we grown up eating. Home-cook food is not merely food that fills your stomach but its memories of us growing up, It contains love and care of family members as they put in effort in cooking for u. Therefore what i missed is definitely homecook food.

When I'm away from home for awhile, I start to miss just BEING home. You know what it's like when you live alone and then suddenly are sharing space again - you start to miss your own routines and schedules. Your own way of doing things.

I was away from home when I was in College. And every time I got to go home I always feel really excited. Because nothing beats the feeling when you are at home. You can eat well, sleep well and you really feel relaxed. I really miss my home when its time to go back to school again. I hug my pillows before I go and sometimes I even cry. I dont know but it always feel great to be back home. And when I am about to leave again it is the saddest part. Now that I have graduated I really gained a lot of weight. Because lots of good food and home cooking is the best. What i really miss when i leave is the homey feeling. That no place in the world could ever give to me. And most of all my bed especially the pillows. LOL!

Hello, the thing I miss the most when I am not home is my bathroom. I feel weird using other bathrooms, but I am not gone a lot maybe a week or two so I don't really miss my family in such a short time.
