Lace, leather, cotton, or silk? Which of these is your fave fabric?

I love all of them, but I must say that silk and lace are two of my favorite fabrics for any occasion, especially formal ones. I also love leather outerwear, like jackets, and coats. Cotton is my go-to fabric for school, and I usually pair it up with denim, but I like high-grade cotton as much as I like rough, rugged cotton. How is your closest organized, in terms of occasion and fabric? Or do you exclude any of these completely from your list? If so, why?

I wear cotton the most so I would have to say cotton is my first favorite. Now my second favorite is lace. I love lace wedding dresses with keyhole backs. Silk is the third favorite. I love the feeling of silk on my skin after I have shaved my legs. I do not care for leather at all.

Welcome to mylot friend
My favorite is always pure cotton, because my place is hot, cotton is comfortable, it absorbs sweat easily, i hate polystyrenes usually, i have some shirts with polystyrene blends, i use them much less compared to the cotton lol
Thanks for sharing
Cheers.
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

I know what you mean. Cotton is so much easier to wear in hot weather.

I don't have my clothes organized by material (although that's a good idea..) although aesthetically, I'd rather have them organized by color. Just because. *shrugs*. I'm particular about the materials of my clothes. I love RAYON, first and foremost - it's so comfy, stretchy, and a lot of the cute shirts I have are made out of rayon. I don't have too many things that are actually plain-old cotton (besides jeans) unless they are mixed in with silk or rayon or polyester. I'm not a huge fan of polyester, but I have some blouses that are made out of it. Silk is nice - but it can't be cheap silk (see, I'm very particular) - because it's just not comfortable, and starts to smell bad when you get it wet (seriously!). It also depends on the style of the blouse or dress in question. But all in all, I'd have to say my favorite is rayon!

I forgot about rayon, but you are definitely correct about its positive aspects, and I do own a lot of it! I love polyester, especially for scarves and nice tank tops. Your taste is really refined! Thanks for your answer!

Honestly I do not like the feel of silk. I think it is usually pretty as far as the way it looks, but I don't like the feel of it. I do like leather for jackets and such. Cotton is good for all my everyday stuff!

Wow..really? I love the feel of silk, but I reckon that high-class cotton, like from Bloomingdale's or Saks, has the ability to give me a comparable thrill. But cotton is a really versatile material, so I can understand your stance!

i would just as soon be in jeans and a Tshirt.. the perfect cotton combo! lol! However, I do prefer silk when I wear my suits!

I have skin allergies so I stick with either silk or cotton and leather is great for coats and jackets.

I really like silk, but find it hard to care for. Otherwise I would probably wear it much more. But I still have quite a few silk pieces though. I love lace too!
But the material I wear the most is cotton. I don't own anything in leather except three jackets. I think leather is okay for jackets, but not for much else...

I think that I share most of your preferences, and I definitely agree about the silk (so does my dry cleaning bill lol)

Leather, especially high quality leather is really underrated in my opinion. Its sleekness and warmth make it perfect as a clothing fabric...of course, sweating probably becomes quite uncomfortable, which is also probably why it is usually only worn as jacket fabric.
