I am currently on the pill. A form of it called Tri-nessa. I have been on this generic form of ortho tricyclen for about a year. Since I stopped nursing my child. Prior to having my child I was on the patch. where I got pregnant when I really was not planning to have a child yet. What do you use? What are the pros and cons of it.

Tubal ligation.
Pros, not very likely to get pregnant.
Cons, not usually reversable. A very small number of women have had tubal pregnancies. That can be deadly if not caught in time and necessitates removal of the tube.

I had the ParaGuard IUD inserted. It's a T-shaped device with copper wound around it. It works by releasing tiny amounts of copper over ten years to act as a spermicide.
Pros:
It lasts for ten years
Hormone-free, so it doesn't interfere with your menses
Reversible
Works immediately
Most inexpensive long-term contraceptive
Cons:
Cramps and some bleeding after insertion
Some women have heavier, longer flows
Very small risk of PID
If not inserted correctly, it might slip out

Currently I am seeking for a birth control, the previous one that my OBG, placed me under, which was actually Seasonique, didn't go so well, it give me constant migranes which continued to get worsen with time. So they permanently took me out of it approximately a week ago. I have to go back now for another appoint and alternative. Let's see which one they prescribe this time.
